Why Dallas Fans Should Question Terrell Owen’s Twitter Statements

First off, I know Terrell Owens is a Buffalo Bill, but since he has reportedly made negative remarks about the Dallas Cowboys then it is my duty to analyze it.

According to statements made from Terrell Owens’s Twitter account, he blames quarterback Tony Romo and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett for Dallas’s failures last season.

Here is the exact information from rotoworld.com: “Answering a fan who said he was unhappy that T.O. left Dallas, Owens tweeted: “Neither ws i, blame the OC & romo!! but i’m happy 2 b where i am but i miss the other guys tht were & r true teammates!!”"

Very vicious remarks and if he did say those things, then I would love to set up a booing committee and burn a jersey of his in effigy.

But did he say those things?

There are things that we as fans of football examine when it comes to news before we take it as fact, because many reporters can be as reputable as the National Exaggerator, whoops, I mean National Inquirer.

During Owens’s three year stay with the Silver and Blue, I made it my personal job to analyze his exceptionally large ego and his very flamboyant personality.

This guy has got a mouth of a five year old who has just eaten all of his Halloween candy in one sitting. It will not stop going. I do not think the man has ever been voluntarily silent for more than an hour.

In my own opinion, I think he has ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) and it is obvious he is not on medication so he doesn’t have a firm grip on his mouth.

There is the key to why I think that this is not Owens saying these recent comments about the Dallas Cowboys. Since when does Terrell Owens ever let something else do the talking for him? Other than Drew Rosenhaus, his agent, I don’t think Terrell has ever let anything say anything for him.

He talked to the media whenever he had a problem with Jeff Garcia. The entire city of Philadelphia was split in two over his public feud with Donovan McNabb. The photo above is Owens talking to reporters about the situation with Donovan McNabb.

To use a Twitter account instead of calling John Clayton or Adam Schefter from ESPN just isn’t his style.

The next problem I have with this statement is how he addressed his former quarterback. He called him “romo.”

Every interview I have heard of Terrell Owens, every time I have read an interview of him, he calls Tony Romo by his first name; Tony.

Never “romo,” never “TR,” never “Mr. QB,” he always called him “Tony.”

I just don’t see Owens going military and addressing everybody by their surnames.

I may be wrong, but I just don’t think this is Terrell Owens making those statements.

Of course, here comes the big question: “How can you doubt his own Twitter account?”

Well, if this had happened two weeks ago, I may have blindly believed it, but something else happened to make me doubt the reliability of Twitter.

Somebody created a fake account for DeMarcus Ware and used it to say that his contract talks with the Dallas Cowboys were going great and he was looking forward to being a Cowboy for a long time.

Now, DeMarcus Ware probably does hope to be a Dallas Cowboy, but he corrected the statement about his contract talks being close to done. They are probably still far from it since the Cowboys have a limited cap space to work with.

Twitter can be faked and anyone looking to pull a stunt like this could do it.

So, I’m not going to buy into these comments just yet. I actually would not be surprised if Terrell Owens makes a statement to the press denying he made those comments.

We shall see for ourselves, but I would not plan a jersey burning party just yet.
