The keys to the Bills loss: Johnson, Young and “the bird.”
The Bills continued their losing ways on Sunday, compliments of the Tennessee Titans. As predicted
Titans owner Bud Adams was left pondering after flicking of the Bills.
The anticipated return of Trent Edwards was a complete let down. Edwards returned as the starting QB and actually looked worse than before his concussion and time off. Edwards went 18-of-28, one TD and one interception. During the game, I think once the Bills were tired of Edwards not doing anything, they brought in Ryan Fitzpatrick, who finished 2-of-7 and threw an interception too. Here is some free advice for the rest of the league; if a NFL defense wants to pad its stats, then all means play the Bills.
The rest of the offense was compiled of two touchdown catches from Lee Evans, Terrell Owens whining on the side lines, Josh Reed whining on the side lines, coaches Jauron and Van Pelt looking like they have never called a game before in their life and Rian “the savior” Lindell going 3 for 3 on extra points and field goals. Oh, did I mention the running back core only compiled 85 yards on the ground with no touchdowns and one fumble?
Now the Titans offense and defense looked like they were back to last year’s form. With QB Vince Young starting in place of old Kerry Collins, that offense put on a show. Led by Young and Chris Johnson, the Titans offense was unstoppable. Young went 17 of 25 for 210 yards with one touchdown and one interception. In case you are wondering, that one interception was compliments of Roderick Hood and not Jarius Byrd.
Titans RB Chris Johnson stole the show on Sunday by compiling 232 yards. On the ground, Johnson had 132 yards and two touchdowns. Receiving, Johnson had 9 receptions for 100 yards. So, if you are keeping track. Two guys out ran, out threw, out caught and down right out won the whole Bills organization.
This win was nothing short of embarrassing for the Bills organization, its players and all of their fans. To make matters worse, the Titans 86 year old owner, Bud Adams (pictured above) was seen on YouTube and by national television cameras flipping the middle finger to the Bills sideline in the fourth quarter. This middle finger sums up the Bills season, period. By the end of the season you may see the Bills fans doing the same thing.
Adams was fined by the NFL Monday morning for his antics by the sum of 250,000. Of course, it doesn’t help that NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell was in attendance to see the game.
With the numbers that the Titans offense racked up on the Bills defense, I bet Bud Adams could have tallied a 100 plus yards of rushing too.
With this said, I am going to pose a question to all the readers and Bills fans alike. What in the hell do the Bills do now? The Bills are 3-6, they will not make the playoffs, they will have new coach next year, probably a new QB, Terrell Owens won’t be back next year, Jairus Byrd is going to leave for better money, Rian Lindell will more than likely lead the team in scoring again, Lynch will probably get traded in the off season and/or won’t stay out of trouble and more members of the Bills dynasty teams from the 90’s will be inducted into the Hall of Fame having never won a Super Bowl.
I think they should throw in the towels, forfeit the rest of the season, start frequenting Sabres games and hit the Buffalo night scene and happy hours. Buffalo does do a great happy hour and it is less than a Bills ticket. Plus, at a happy hour, your odds are better at scoring then the Bills offense.
A side note, it is 9:17 am on Tuesday and the Bills organization is so embarrassed of the loss that they haven’t even updated the stats or posted the score on their official web site yet. Mind you, it is two days later since the game ended.
The 3-6 Bills will now travel to Jacksonville to play tackle football with the Jaguars. Watch for Trent to throw a few more interceptions and increase his total to more than the amount of touchdowns he has thrown this year. Lynch will have 36 yards of rushing. The receiver core will continue to cry on the side lines about not getting the ball thrown to them and when they do they will cry that they are dropping the ball because it is being thrown to hard. Of course, Rian “the savior” Lindell will have 10 plus points and save Bills fans the embarrassment of have a “goose egg” on the score board.
If you think Chris Johnson had a big game this week, wait till Maurice Jones-Drew gets a hold of the ball. Jones comes to the game with 12 touchdowns on the season and 860 yards on 169 attempts. Run the numbers and this shows he has a 5.1 average per carry, good grief it is going to be a long game for the Bills defense.
