The Bills win on the road against Carolina despite my prediction and with a backup QB

This just in, the Bills win two in a row!!!!

Jairus Byrd

Jairus Byrd looking for another interception. Jairus has five picks in the last three games

As predicted, last week, the Bills defense picked apart Jake Delhomme who is having a horrible year. Delhomme completed three interceptions which allowed Buffalo to score 14 points. Besides Delhomme giving the ball away three times, the Panthers would go on to fumble the ball once which gave Buffalo three more points. Points off of turnovers,17, was the difference maker.

Leading the defense was FS Jairus Byrd who tallied two interceptions. This was Byrd’s second straight two interception game. In the last three games, he has compiled five interceptions. Without his outstanding play, the Bills would be 0-3 over the last three games. The interceptions didn’t stop with Byrd, because George Wilson had one of his own. Also on defense, fan favorite LB Paul Posluszny returned to action for the first time in several weeks after an injury. Posluszny returned to his old ways by leading the defense in tackles with nine. Finally, Delhomme spent some time on the ground getting sacked twice compliments of Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay.

The offense, well they were the offense. However, the only thing that was different this week is that they actually remembered where the end-zone was. The Bills backup QB, Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is taking snaps for the injured Trent Edwards, came in too throw one touchdown to Lee Evans. Fitzpatrick would also tally 123 yards of passing while going 11-for-23 on the day. Lynch would later get in on the action with a rushing touchdown and 40 yards total.

Of course, you have to take two points away from the offensive production because they did gave up a safety to the Panthers defense. Why did the Bills do a delayed hand off when you are deep in your own end-zone? I mean, really? Oh, Terrell “seven million dollars” Owens earned his keep by catching 3 passes for 27 yards. Can you feel the sarcasm?

Finally, “old trusty,” “scoring machine,” Rian Lindell continued to add to his season total by adding 8 points to the board. I would like to alter my previous statement about any of the Bills going to the pro-bowl, Lindell will be invited. Of course, the rest of the Bills will be cheering for him from the stands.

Next up for the Bills are the Houston Texans who are on a two game win streak of their own. The Texans come to Buffalo on the backs of QB Matt Schaub. Schaub comes to Buffalo with 16 touchdowns under his belt and a 104.4 QB rating. Look for the Bills to match them mono y mono on the ground but be beaten on the passing game. Delhomme is a walk in the park compared to Schaub. Of course, it would be nice to see Byrd get two more interceptions.

Let’s go Buffalo!!!!!!

    Hey Gemma Barnes,
Yes, interceptions are not only winning the few games they have but it looks like that is the only way they can move the ball down the field. I hope they can keep this defense in-tacked for next season. With the right offense and this defense, they will make the playoffs next year. Thanks for reading

    Hey Rob,
If this were a tennis match, I would say “advantage Who Dey!” Yes, the Bengals are doing much better then the Bills this season and it looks like they are also en route to make the payoffs too. If the Bengals offense and Bills defense (certain players) were on one team, they could win it all.
    Thanks for reading Rob!!!
