In the NBA you have Kobe or LeBron. In the NHL you have Crosby vs Ovechkin. For the most part in the NFL it's always been Brady vs Manning deciding who's the best quarterback in the NFL.
I decided to go beyond the usual comparison of who is the best quarterback in the NFL right now with Manning and Brady. I decided to compare two forty year old quarterbacks who've been making "comebacks" for three years now.
Warner with Arizona and Favre with Green Bay, NY Jets and most recently Minnesota.
I've never heard someone compare Brett Favre and Kurt Warner so I decided to be the first and even [...]

The Minnesota Vikings have many reasons to be optimistic going into Sunday’s NFC Championship game. They have a hall of fame quarterback who knows how to earn a ring. They have a great running back and potent array of offensive weapons. They also have a fearsome pass-rush that demolished Dallas by sacking Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo six times while holding the Cowboys to just three points.
One concern going into the weekend however, is health. Half of the team’s starting defensive line in Ray Edwards and Kevin Williams missed two straight practices with knee troubles. Edwards especially proved dominant in the team’s first playoff game, netting three of the team’s sacks himself while being a disruptive force all day.
Wide receiver and kick returner Percy Harvin [...]

Now that the NFL’s final four has been set, an array of interesting storylines emerge. Each team has its own story, own reason for making the super bowl interesting. Here’s a look at the stories going on beyond the facts and figures.
Indianapolis
Holding the top record in the NFL at 14-2. Indianapolis has probably the most pressure of any team in this round. The Colts have (by far) the most recent super bowl victory or even just appearance of any of the four teams involved. They have an MVP quarterback and a superior record.
So why the concern and pressure? First of all, they shook some, but not all of the concern regarding the team’s concept of benching starters to prevent injury and rest them up. They came out strong and soundly defeated the [...]

On Sunday the Minnesota Vikings will welcome the Dallas Cowboys to the Metrodome to kick off their run at the Super Bowl. On paper the two teams match up very well, and it looks as though this should be the game of the weekend. As always, this game will come down to who can win the major categories of the game, offense, defense, and special teams.
Offense - Cowboys
I give the edge on the offensive side of the ball to the Cowboys, who have been on a roll the past couple of weeks. Tony Romo has the most talent of any quarterback in the NFL, and over the past couple of weeks it looks as though he has finally reached his immense talent. On top of that, Felix Jones has become the most explosive back in the playoffs, surpassing Adrian Peterson. Which brings me to my final reason why I chose [...]

On Monday night the Minnesota Vikings will travel to the ultra famous Soldier Field of Chicago to take on the Chicago Bears. Coming into the season people circled this game on the calendar, as many thought that it could be a game that determined the NFC North winner or at least have some kind of playoff implication.
Well, they could not have been more wrong. The Vikings have flourished so far this season reaching a 11-3 record through week 15. On the complete other spectrum, the Bears have looked out of sync and without inspiration for much of the season and their 5-9 record has earned them a spot in the top three of the most disappointing teams of the year.
During the off-season both the Vikings and Bears added Pro Bowl quarterbacks to their rosters, Brett Favre and Jay Cutler [...]

This is as easy as it gets. The Arizona Cardinals passed their stiffest challenge of the season with startling ease.
The Vikings came to town having been anointed the most complete team in the NFL by many pundits, despite their one loss and two undefeated teams ahead of them. The annually under-appreciated Cardinals were supposed to have their hands full against three of the best players in the NFL at any position—Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson and Jared Allen. Instead, all three superstars and the rest of the Vikings were completely shut down in a thoroughly dominating performance by the reigning NFC Champions.
Passing Offense- A+
Kurt Warner came back after missing last game with post-concussion symptoms with flying colors—and thankfully the good kind, not the kind [...]

The media is fickle. That much is a given. It is boggling though how former players and coaches alike, presumed experts about everything football and particularly NFL football, can give off such amateur assessments sometimes. The example I provide here is not even that shocking necessarily, but it is relevant anyway. Watch this clip before reading on:
So the conclusion by our ESPN analysts is that the Vikings will win because:
1) The Vikings don't have any weaknesses.
2) Brett Favre is playing great.
3) Arizona has a 2-3 record at home.
4) The Vikings are great at stopping the run and rushing the passer.
Let [...]

It’s hard to argue that the Minnesota Vikings aren’t a premiere team in the NFL this year. Yet, it’s also hard to argue that they are. Their record thus far is 7-1, yet the total record of all teams they’ve played this year is 21-36; with three teams that have one win. Also, they aren’t even blowing these bad teams out. Their average margin of victory is eleven.
Their first real test came in Week 4 when Brett Favre played his first game ever versus the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings sneaked by and won by seven. In Week 6 versus the Ravens, the luck was on their side. Dominating the first half offensively and defensively, the Vikings went into the half up 14-3. It wasn’t until a 21 point fourth quarter that Vikings fans were about to witness a 44-yard chip shot in a dome [...]
