Former $100 million quarterback Michael Vick is out of prison and working a $10 per hour construction job as he serves his final two months under home confinement. Vick will officially be a free member of society once again in late July. And, presumably, he’ll be looking to resume his NFL career.
The debate about whether NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell should reinstate Vick will be played out on other platforms (go beyond the traditional SportsCenter and think CNN, Today Show, etc.) In that debate, you’ll have the animal lovers decrying Vick’s return as heinous immorality. You’ll have a quieter majority supporting his second chance on the basis that he’s served his time and paid his debt to society. Ultimately, Goodell will hold final judgment on Vick’s fate in 2009.
