Usually Super Bowl Sunday gets the nations attention either on the field (if you have the $800+ per ticket to fork up) or on that 1080 HD TV in the living room. Either way you decide to watch the game about everyone in this country turns into watch the Super Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday. Now most of the time there's not any other news that happens on Super Bowl Sunday other than on the two teams involved in the Super Bowl. However Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle made an not so surprised announcement Sunday. He announced via Twitter that he was retiring from the game of football. Here's the [...] Continue reading →
The media icon that is the NFL seemed to go from a league with players playing to win and get the prize inside every box (the Super Bowl) to a league that's been loaded with player conduct problems, divas, and players just in it for the money. On Aug. 8, 2006, Roger Goodell was selected to succeed retiring commissioner Paul Tagliabue, voted on by 31 NFL GMs (Oakland abstained from all voting). Goodell officially became the acting commissioner on [...] Continue reading →
The world of Twitter has become a new phenomenon for sports players, coaches, agents and just about everyone. Thanks to Matt Hasselbeck he's let Seahawks Nation know his condition after being taken out of the Seahawks-49ers game with a reported "rib injury". Here is what Matt Hasselbeck said via Twitter about his injury update. "Going to be alright. Thx to staff at Stanford and Dr. McAdam for snapping this photo." Hasselbeck has flown back with the Seahawks team to Seattle so he will be fine once he gets a little more rest. (1) From the information I can get (and let me say this, being that I'm from the Pittsburgh area, it's not easy keeping up with the Training Camp in Kansas City!!) The Chiefs look to be making progress in camp. Todd Haley is holding high expectations of all his players in camp, which I first and foremost applaud. From what I've seen, players (and especially Chiefs fans) did not think highly of former HC Herm Edwards because he was being labeled as [...] Continue reading →
First off, I know Terrell Owens is a Buffalo Bill, but since he has reportedly made negative remarks about the Dallas Cowboys then it is my duty to analyze it. According to statements made from Terrell Owens's Twitter account, he blames quarterback Tony Romo and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett for Dallas's failures last season. Here is the exact information from rotoworld.com: "Answering a fan who said he was unhappy that T.O. left Dallas, Owens tweeted: "Neither ws i, blame the OC & romo!! but i'm happy 2 b where i am but i miss the other guys tht were & r true teammates!!"" Very [...] Continue reading →
