Tim Ruskell

As today dons a new year and more importantly a new decade in Seahawks history. However they still have one little bit of 2009 left attached to them, that being their final regular season game this Sunday at home against the Tennessee Titans and C2k Chris Johnson. After the Tennessee game this Sunday the Seahawks will go into full on off season mode, starting with the hiring of the teams new president/GM replacing Tim Ruskell who resigned in December. Once that new GM is in place they will have a lot of work ahead of them to add talented to this depleted roster. The Seahawks new GM will have to attack some of those needs through free agency as [...] Continue reading →
Just another Jim Mora Jr. press conference rant after their 34-7 loss to the Houston Texans. The loss takes Seattle out of playoff contention and the way this team has played this season they don't deserve to be listed in playoff contention and today was a good wake up call. Now I have been supporting Mora in Seattle up until this season. Former Seahawks GM Tim Ruskell brought in Mora two years ago as the secondary coach and assistant head coach. In his first season the Seahawks secondary was amongst the best in the league and even though last year was a little step back they played very well. When Jim Mora Jr. was tabbed as the successor to [...] Continue reading →
On December 2nd Seahawks President of Football Operations and General Manager Tim Ruskell resigned with only three months left on a five year contract. There had been reports that the Seahawks wouldn't retain Ruskell after seasons end so Ruskell decided to do the fair thing and not let it drag out any longer. At the press conference where Ruskell, and Seahawks CEO Tod Leiweke talked about the fact that it came down to not winning enough games and that the team wanted and needed to go in a new direction. Ruskell replaced former Seahawks GM Bob Whitsitt after he was fired in 2005. Now Tod [...] Continue reading →

Since 2000 the Seahawks have had three general managers. Former head coach/GM Mike Holmgren (1999-2002), Bob Ferguson (2002-2005) and Tim Ruskell (2005-present). All three where respectable GM's. Holmgren built the foundation for the super bowl team of 2005 and was responsible for the Seahawks best decade in team history as both coach and GM. [...] Continue reading →
This off-season Tim Ruskell seams like he should be a professional poker player. He convinced the best WR in free agency T.J Houshmandzadeh to sign with a team that just went 4-12 over the Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings. Then Ruskell sent out all the smoke screens about drafting QB Mark Sanchez and wound up drafting the player they wanted all along which was OLB Aaron Curry. [...] Continue reading →
Over the last two weeks rumors have been going around the league about what the Seahawks might do with the fourth overall pick. There has been links to OT Eugene Monroe, LB Aaron Curry, QB Matt Stafford, QB Mark Sanchez, and possibly WR Michael Crabtree. Seahawks GM Tim Ruskell came out this week and said the he has a list of four players that he is considering drafting fourth overall. Some of those players could go before Seattle or be there when Seattle picks at four. This mock draft will shed a lot of light on what the Seahawks remaining needs are and how they plan on filling them. [...] Continue reading →
