The Jets are expected to release Thomas Jones this week and there have been mixed reviews on whether they made the right decision.
Either way, Thomas Jones is now one of the top free agents in the market and the Jets made a mistake by letting him go, here is why.
Reason #1 Jets Aren't going to be spending much money anyway: Sure Thomas Jones had cost a lot to keep with his upcoming roster bonus and salary, but the Jets aren't going to be spending this much this off season.
Due to restrictions, the Jets have to lose a free agent, to sign one and it has to be similar value. So why lose your 1,400 yard rusher when you don't really need to save the money for free agency.

Jets continue to shut up the critics with another underdog win against the Chargers.They are now in the AFC championships for the first time since Bill Parcells was coaching the Jets.
Here are some quick hits from the game.
-I am not so much surprised that the Jets won, then I am that they didn't manage to blow it. I think about 99% of Jet fans were thinking the Jets were going to be the same old Jets after the Chargers scored a touchdown with two minutes and 14 seconds left.
-Kerry Rhodes decided to turn on the time machine to the player he was in 2006. He had a key sack, which forced a fumble late in the fourth quarter, and returned the onside kick that saved the game for the Jets.
