Super Bowl

Disclaimer: Usually journalist and especially good journalist don’t usually use “I” in articles and recently I’ve been trying to improve on that and just stick with reporting. However I’ve decided to try a little experiment and create a new series of articles titled “In my opinion” which will include players, coaches and other aspects of the NFL an give my opinion on those topics. So articles titled “In my opinion” will be the only time I use “I” in an article, but when it comes to reporting on the Seahawks and the draft, “I” won’t be included. Just needed to clear that with this [...] Continue reading →
The Bills are making moves in free agency, however they are few and far between. Clearly, the Bills organization, being a small franchise, are afraid of what a no cap season will bring. Buffalo's first signing since free agency began last Friday is OL Cornell Green. Green continues his ten year playing career, most recently the last three years with Raiders, with Buffalo. Green had several visits lined up, but once he [...] Continue reading →
A very nice thing Bullitt did with his father. According to Yahoo! Sports' blog Shutdown Corner, safety Melvin Bullitt has given his AFC Championship ring to his dad: [...] rather than dwell on a Super Bowl XLIV loss to New Orleans on Feb. 7, the third-year pro is giving the AFC ring to his father, Jerry. "I decided that after we lost," Bullitt said Wednesday, in reference to the 31-17 defeat in Miami. "It was really more about how I don't want to accept the fact we didn't reach our goal. "Each day, it eats at me. Every day. It crosses my mind every day." [...] Continue reading →
Julius Peppers, a soon to be free agent this off season will be one of if not the most highly touted commodity when free agency officially starts on March 5th. Today Peppers came out to the media and said he is not willing nor will he sign a long term contract with the Carolina Panthers, which all but makes him an official unrestricted free agent because he has more than six years of NFL experience. So now starts the bevy of articles flying around about where Julius Peppers should and might sign when March 5th comes around. The Saints, Eagles, Chiefs, Patriots and about a dozen other teams could be looking at Peppers. One of those [...] Continue reading →
Usually Super Bowl Sunday gets the nations attention either on the field (if you have the $800+ per ticket to fork up) or on that 1080 HD TV in the living room. Either way you decide to watch the game about everyone in this country turns into watch the Super Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday. Now most of the time there's not any other news that happens on Super Bowl Sunday other than on the two teams involved in the Super Bowl. However Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle made an not so surprised announcement Sunday. He announced via Twitter that he was retiring from the game of football. Here's the [...] Continue reading →
As a Colts fan, this game really disappointed me. But hey, the New Orleans Saints wanted it more. They needed this. After all New Orleans has gone through for the past few years with Hurricane Katrina and all that. Along with that, the Saints were never a good football team. The NFC Championship was the farthest they’ve ever gone before the season started. And they only made the NFC Championship once in their life. The Saints were undervalued. With losing to teams like the Buccaneers with their starters, the Saints were not favorites entering the playoffs. They proved everyone wrong. And then, the heroics of Tracy Porter came in the NFC Championship game. After that pick, it was over. It happened last night in the Super Bowl, against a high-powered Colts’ team. The first quarter [...] Continue reading →
WOW!!! NO New England, NO Dallas, NO San Diego, NO Minnesota, NO Pittsburgh...but there is one NO left...New Orleans is still there...and they are in a prime positions to win this Sunday's game versus the Colts. This will not be a cake though, the Saints will be facing yet again another hall of fame quarterback. I cannot think of a postseason where I team has had to potentially beat 3-1st-Ballot-Hall of Fame Quarterbacks. Kurt Warner is the only questionable quarterback and the question is more "when" than "if". But that is a discussion for another time. Between Warner, Brett Farve, and Peyton Manning it is hard to get a better trio of quarterbacks and resumes in the business of quarterbacking. Relatively speaking the first two were easy compared to Manning. Farve and Warner are [...] Continue reading →
According to NFL Fanhouse, Jim Irsay plans to pay Peyton Manning sometime and it would make Manning the highest-paid player in NFL history. "We know that Peyton's going to be the highest-paid player in the league," Irsay said. "It'll get done. There's no question about that, and it's something we'll focus on in the offseason." And plus, Manning could make up big for this deal if the Colts win the Super Bowl. All is going good for the Colts' "messiah." More of this story can be seen [...] Continue reading →
Just about a week before the Super Bowl, something horrible occurred to the Indianapolis Colts: Dwight Freeney was injured and it is possible that he will not play in the biggest game of the NFL season. Freeney was having a remarkable year and was huge contributor to the Colts’ defense. But with a possibility of losing him in the Super Bowl, many are worried. But don’t think too far with this. If Freeney does not play, do not be worried. The Colts can handle it, in my opinion. In 2007, Indianapolis was dominant like this season. But they lost Freeney for like seven games, and they managed to get towards a 13-3 record. The Colts managed roll without No. 93. Yes yes, it would hurt a lot because Indy cannot just rely on Robert Mathis. 93+98=Hell for Drew Brees. That’s what the [...] Continue reading →
It is the classic scenario, who would win talent or heart? On paper it appears as though the Vikings would have won the game with some of the statistics piled up in last Sunday's NFC Championship game. But the Saints play with unextinguishable fire that fuels the Super Dome and the city of New Orleans....which was evident after the game was over and the streets of downtown New Orleans were flooded, not with water, but with fans cheering in celebration of their team's victory and advancing to the Super Bowl!!! When you look at the statistics it seems like the Saints should have lost this game by at least a touchdown if not more points. But what the Saints had on their side that game was the thing that they have had on their side all season long....heart. There a ton of categories [...] Continue reading →
