Hello all, been a long time since I had the privilege of yapping at 'ya. Anyway, I have lots and lots of news and training camp info to sift through, but today we're going to talk mainly about a bit of news I got literally minutes ago.
ESPN is reporting that Donnie Avery is out 4-6 weeks with a foot injury. It claims in the story that Avery woke up with soreness in his left foot on Saturday morning thinking it was no big deal. However, he had a precautionary MRI taken yesterday, which showed more significant damange than expected. He is expected to be out 4-6 with an undisclosed foot injury.
Looking at my calendar, four weeks would be August 30th and six weeks would be September 13th, which just so happens to be the same day as the first game for the Rams. Either way, Avery looks to [...]

As the NFL draft buzz nears its peak, Jim Schwartz and Martin Mayhew have busied themselves once again in finding the kind of low-risk, moderate-reward players they believe will provide depth and fill some of the vast holes in the roster.
Of course, they may also be showing off a sense of humor, signing a Curry and a Smith a week before the draft... in which the top pick could be Aaron Curry or Jason Smith.
Former Raiders WR Ronald Curry and former Arizona Cardinal FB Terrelle Smith signed one-year contracts with the Detroit Lions on Thursday, and the consensus around the league is, "So what?"
That, actually, is the proper reaction.
