Robert Mathis

Just about a week before the Super Bowl, something horrible occurred to the Indianapolis Colts: Dwight Freeney was injured and it is possible that he will not play in the biggest game of the NFL season. Freeney was having a remarkable year and was huge contributor to the Colts’ defense. But with a possibility of losing him in the Super Bowl, many are worried. But don’t think too far with this. If Freeney does not play, do not be worried. The Colts can handle it, in my opinion. In 2007, Indianapolis was dominant like this season. But they lost Freeney for like seven games, and they managed to get towards a 13-3 record. The Colts managed roll without No. 93. Yes yes, it would hurt a lot because Indy cannot just rely on Robert Mathis. 93+98=Hell for Drew Brees. That’s what the [...] Continue reading →
Colts defensive end Robert Mathis practiced today to prepare for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos. Mathis made the Pro Bowl last year. He missed practices on Wednesday and Thursday due to a quad injury and is labeled as questionable.I hope Mathis will play, who could well be on his way to another Pro Bowl, alongside with Dwight Freeney. Other Injury News Ryan Diem did not practice, labeled as questionable. Charlie Johnson practiced today after not playing last week. Questionable Out for game: Donald Brown, Aaron Francisco, Anthony Gonzalez, and Adam Vinatieri [...] Continue reading →
After the stomping 31-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts’ defensive end Dwight Freeney injured his quad and is expected to miss two-to-three weeks. The Colts will be facing the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday, and it they’ll miss the pressure Freeney will be putting on Seneca Wallace. But hopefully, Robert Mathis can step it [...] Continue reading →
The Indianapolis Colts have showed signs of hope and some major improvement after Sunday's 14-12 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts defense played strong in the victory. Peyton Manning had a solid performance, going 28-of-38 for 301 passing yards with one touchdown and one interception. Manning played strong and was showing [...] Continue reading →
We observed the horrible years of the Indianapolis Colts defense. For example, the 2006 season which Indy took a role of doing absolutely horrible on rush defense. It was just about every game you see a 100-yard rusher. Then there came one of the worst games in Colts history which resulted in a 44-17 painful defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars, in which the Colts defense allowed about yards on plainly just running the ball. Against the Tennessee Titans, Colts fans always witnessed the times of Vince Young, Travis Henry, and LenDale White running right over them. Then there was the first time ever in which the Colts loss to the [...] Continue reading →
I have always been a fan of Robert Mathis. It's not because he has the same birthday as me (February 26), it's just that I like how he plays. He is just a fun player to watch when he is on the field. Countless times, you see sacks every Sunday coming from no other then this fool right here. It also makes the Colts look more dangerous alongside with Dwight Freeney on the other side of where Mathis stands. [...] Continue reading →
In the first round of the NFL Draft, the Colts were up at the 27th pick. Many people believed a wide receiver or a defensive tackle in the making for that pick on Indy. The experts were proven wrong as Indianapolis drafted running back Donald Brown, who was a complete start a Conneticutt. As a receiver wasn't found for the Colts, they eventually decided picking one in the fourth round as Indy picked Austin Collie from BYU. At 6'2" and pushing 210 pounds, Collie looked to be a dominant starter at the slot position, as he may be competing against Pierre Garcon, Roy Hall, and now even Taj Smith maybe. But let's save that for my next article. Collie looked like a dangerous player with his size and his ability. Ability do what? He hasn't shown anything! Oh yes he has. Take a look [...] Continue reading →
