Raheem Morris

The Buccaneers have just finished their 2009 campaign with a record of 3-13 under rookie head coach Raheem Morris. There were rumors swirling around that the Bucs we're going to try to convince Bill Cowher to be the head coach for the 2010 season. Those rumors were quickly put to bed when it was announced earlier this week that Morris would indeed be returning for his 2nd season as head coach. Some fans were disappointed and annoyed that Morris was coming back because they fell he is not qualified to be a successful head coach. While there is no debating that Morris had some issues during his first season, I have no problem bringing him back next year. Yes, at the beginning of the season he had that "'deer in the headlights" look and appeared to be in over his head. When [...] Continue reading →
This is a letter that I am debating sending to GM Mark Dominik- what do you think... The State of the Bucs' Young Head Coach and Younger Quarterback.... Dear Bucs Management, Please do not fire head coach Raheem Morris, I feel as though you need to take a look at the most successful franchises in all sports and you will find that teams that stick with their manager are perennial winners (Bobby Cox manager of the Braves, Jerry Sloan coach of the Utah Jazz, Bill Walsh former coach of the 49ers, Bill Cowher former coach of the Steelers). Morris needs time to develop his personal. You, as management, felt like Morris is the future. Well, Rome was not built in a day, there are going to be many bumps in the road with the changes you have made with coaching and players. Specifically [...] Continue reading →
The Carolina Panthers knew heading into Sunday's game against the Buccaneers that if their running game was ever going to break out, it would happen in Tampa Bay. The Panthers' wish came true as DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart combined for 262 yards and three touchdowns in the team's 28-21 victory. Jonathan Stewart said via Twitter after the game that "Double Trouble is back," and it appears as though he may be on to something.  The dynamic duo will have another weak run defense to dissect next week when Buffalo comes to town. The Panthers have won two straight after starting off the season 0-3.  The two victories have come against tumultuous teams, but are victories nonetheless.  There are still several areas that need addressing before the schedule turns sour in [...] Continue reading →
By Mike Neilson First, I am excited to be a new writer for NFLTouchdown.Com for all things Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, Let's get to it! I am a generally optimistic person, however, when it comes to sports it doesn't take much to turn me into a perenial pessimist. This offseason for the Buc's has spured on a rush of dispair, hopeless outlooks and negative thoughts about the 2009 season and beyond. We all need to be on the same page so let's review the offseason changes, additions and 'omissions' to our beloved franchise. Coaching / Management Changes (notable): Out: Jon Gruden, Monte Kiffin (DC),Bill Muir (OC/OLine), Bruce Allen (GM) In: Raheem Morris (promoted from DB Coach), Jim Bates (DC), Jeff Jagodzinski (OC), Mark [...] Continue reading →
