When the Philadelphia Eagles signed quarterback Michael Vick to a two-year contract in August, the one game that stuck out was December 6--a Week 13 matchup at the Georgia Dome against the Atlanta Falcons, his former team.

After a 38-10 blowout against the Carolina Panthers, the Philadelphia Eagles lost their starting quarterback when Donovan McNabb went down with a fractured rib. Now, they are bringing a familiar face back who once led the team to a magical run in 2006 when McNabb went down with an ACL injury.

One day after trimming the roster down to 53 players, the Philadelphia Eagles have released veteran quarterback A.J. Feeley. The move was made to allow Michael Vick to become the team's No. 3 quarterback with Kevin Kolb as the backup to Donovan McNabb.

Tonight, the Philadelphia Eagles travel to the Meadowlands to take on the New York Jets in both team's final game of the 2009 preseason. The game should be filled with plenty of talk surrounding Michael Vick since Commissioner Roger Goodell will allow him to be eligible to play beginning Week Three of the regular season.

Any other year, a preseason game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars would not have a significant impact for the fans. However, last night's matchup may have been one of the most hyped-up preseason games fans have seen in years since Michael Vick was making his debut with the Eagles after spending 18 months in prison for his involvement with running a dogfighting operation.
Vick's first game back since December 31, 2006 was the complete opposite of what most people expected--which may have been a great thing.

According to a report by Chris Mortenson on ESPN.com, former Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick has signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Vick's agent Joel Segal confirmed the deal.
Vick will join the Eagles after sitting out the last two seasons after spending time in jail due to his involvement with running a dog-fighting ring at one of his home's in Virginia. He will join an Eagles' roster that is led by Donovan McNabb at quarterback.
After his release from the Atlanta Falcons, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated Vick during the offseason, allowing him to sign with any team willing to take him.
