Bills rookie free safety, Jairus Byrd is in the running for rookie of the year honors.
Drafted in the second round out of Oregon in the 2009 draft, Jairus has already proven himself to be an extreme threat to any opposing quarterback. Jairus finished the season tied for first place in the NFL with nine interceptions and recorded 45 tackles in 14 games. Jarius will also be playing in the Pro Bowl in February as the lone member of the Bills.
Jairus does have some stiff competition on [...]

Sevens months ago, the New York Giants drove 15 minutes into New York City and arrived at Radio City Music Hall for the 2009 NFL draft. That day the Giants brass left with nine unknown players who would hopefully make an impact for the New York Giants.
With their first pick in the 2009 draft, the New York Giants invested in North Carolina’s star wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.
It was a heavy wide receiver draft, so how did the Giants know they got the right guy? They didn’t! Reports circulated around the sports community that the Giants wanted wide receiver Jeremy Maclin from Missouri; however, the [...]

There was a time when T.J. Houshmanzadeh was a big house hold name in Minnesota. (No pun intended) A time when the many Minnesota Vikings fans could almost dream of seeing the long named athlete streaking down the sidelines, a football in hands, and a Metrodome crowd booming with cheers.
Yet oddly enough, those days have come and gone, and Housh is a distant and faded memory from the average Minnesota sports fan's mind.
Ever since he joined the Seattle Seahawks this past off-season through the NFL free agency, Vikings fans have pushed him out of their lives and out onto the [...]

The Minnesota Vikings have been silent all offseason to answering their needs during free agency. On top of that, the Vikings scratched 78 names off of their potential draft picks before the draft and thus narrowing the field even more. As such, many who became spoiled by Minnesota's '09 offseason spending spree were deflated by the lack of activity from the Vikings this offseason.
Lone and behold, the Vikings make a bold move in the NFL Draft by selecting Percy Harvin #22 overall. A move that is considered very uncharacteristic of Head Coach Brad Childress and company. Even more so was the fact that it was a day-of-decision.
Harvin possesses the great ability to take it the distance every time from several positions on the field. He has natural hands and a certain quickness that [...]

As NFL's Christmas comes to a close, the luster of the one weekend in April when everyone wears football jerseys comes to an end. The Minnesota Vikings have done little this offseason to prepare the team for 2009 in hopes the draft would supply everything they would need. The Vikings went in with six picks and in the end only used five as one was traded away to Washington for higher 5th round pick.
Here's how this weekend shook down for the Vikings...
Round 1: #22 Pick Overall - WR Percy Harvin (Florida) Overall Grade: A- [...]

The Tennessee Titans are in a great place heading into this draft. They will be able to draft the best player available on the their board instead of possibly having to reach for a player at a "need" position. Most Titans fans would say receiver is still a need position, but the organization seems to be content with what they have at receiver.
Look for the Titans to take their highest ranked player at either wide receiver, corner back, or defensive line. White they don't feel they have a hole at wide receiver, they would still be willing to upgrade the position if the opportunity presents itself.
Corner is their biggest depth hole after losing corners #3, 4 and 5 in the offseason. They will also be looking to replace Nick Harper as a starter in the next year or so.
The [...]
