NFL OTAs

  The Oakland Raiders continue their OTA program this week after a bye week, they will wrap up OTAs next week then regroup for training camp July 28.  Here is a summary of the Raiders performance from the 3rd week of OTA in Alameda. -Schilen's Surprise:  Chaz Schilens was ruled out until traing camp 2 weeks ago.  Surprise!  Schilens was with the team on the field for the OTAs this week.  Chaz said his foot was "fixed" and he was ready to play after showing the coaches how well his rehab went.  Schilens looked rusty, as should be expected, but the fact that he is out on the field this early is a good sign.  He gets more time to get chemistry with new QB Jason Campbell.  -Gradkowski Throwing:  Chaz Schilens wasn't the only Raider to break [...] Continue reading → | , , , , , ,
After a long Memorial Day weekend the Texans returned to the practice field this week to continue workouts and training.  The main thrust has been and continues to be the defense. DE Antonio Smith worked out with the team for the first time this week.  He is still learning the new system but is already forecasting the Texans to make the playoffs this year.  Smith is quoted as saying that he has the same vibe with the Texans that he had last year with Arizona. WR and Return man Jacoby Jones is back with a new attitude.  He received his college degree this summer and is training harder than before.  Coach Kubiak has taken notice of Jones' new work ethic and is starting to like what he see's.  It remains to be seen how much he has matured and whether he will play a bigger role in [...] Continue reading → | , , , ,
by Al Bracco To start with, Justin Harrell made it onto the field. While we don't know to what extent he participated, his presence indicates he has at least passed his physical.
