Michael Vick

For all intents and purposes, the Trent Edwards era in Buffalo is over after this season. It is really simple, Edwards just hasn’t been any good.  After watching him play this year, it has just helped draw the conclusion that many people were forming after last season; Edwards should not be starting in the NFL. He isn’t a rookie anymore, which some people like to argue.  He has played in 30 NFL games, and still hasn’t shown any signs of improvement.  Sure he has games where he puts up solid stats, but they are usually against sub-par defenses and are few and far between. In his three years as a starter, he average 177 yards per game, which is absolutely pathetic.  Throwing one more [...] Continue reading →
Hey fans, yes, the rumors are true about Michael Vick's adviser, former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy expressing his personal interest about Vick joining the Buffalo Bills next year. In the same conversation, the Bills were also in the mix of acquiring Vick's services before the season started along with Bengals. This of course, was after his prison sentence for dog fighting was completed. Now, I am not saying that the rumors for next season have been completely thrown out the window, but when it comes right down to it, the Bills have two starting QBs already, Edwards and Fitzpatrick. Furthermore, what has Vick done this year for the Eagles that could contribute to the success of the Bills next season? Vick, has completed 2 of 6 passes for 6 yards and rushed 12 times for 27 [...] Continue reading →
The media icon that is the NFL seemed to go from a league with players playing to win and get the prize inside every box (the Super Bowl) to a league that's been loaded with player conduct problems, divas, and players just in it for the money. On Aug. 8, 2006, Roger Goodell was selected to succeed retiring commissioner Paul Tagliabue, voted on by 31 NFL GMs (Oakland abstained from all voting). Goodell officially became the acting commissioner on [...] Continue reading →
Any other year, a preseason game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars would not have a significant impact for the fans. However, last night's matchup may have been one of the most hyped-up preseason games fans have seen in years since Michael Vick was making his debut with the Eagles after spending 18 months in prison for his involvement with running a dogfighting operation. Vick's first game back since December 31, 2006 was the complete opposite of what most people expected--which may have been a great thing. There were protesters outside of the stadium before the game, but not nearly the amount everyone expected. There [...] Continue reading →
That old song "Backfield in Motion" still rings true in the current NFL. With the Eagles adding Michael Vick and already having McNabb and Westbrook their backfield is in complete motion. The Seattle Seahawks can be added to that list. They currently have Julius Jones, who is the starting RB, T.J Duckett and two young backs in Devin Moore and Justin Forsett. Now the Seahawks backfield migth be in action again with the possibility of the Seattle Seahawks signing free agent running back Warrick Dunn. Dunn was the running back in Atlanta when both Jim Mora Jr and Greg Knapp where in Atlanta. Now this rumor has some truth behind it and I would like to announce that there is no truth to the Thomas Jones rumors. There are only two teams conformed interested in Warrick [...] Continue reading →
Michael Vick has just been signed by the Philadelphia Eagles, which is surprising in the fact that Head Coach Andy Reid distanced himself in an early interview this week with ESPN. He said that the Eagles are happy with their quarterback situation and he hoped that Vick would get a second chance by another team. Now Vick is headed to Philly to become teammates with Donavan McNabb. This should help Vick with his character and becoming more of a complete quarterback. The Eagles weren’t the only ones in the hunt for Vick. It's not such a big surprise that the Cincinnati Bengals offered Vick a [...] Continue reading →
Michael Vick is an official NFL free agent, and has been conditionally reinstated by commissioner Goodell. He is able to sign with any 31 teams, the Falcons really don't even count anymore so its down to at least 31 teams. Now before Vick was reinstated, a lot of teams in the NFL came out and said that they wouldn’t sign Vick. [...] Continue reading →
I was recently going over the Saints offense and they seem to be lacking that slight bit of extra talent to push them over the top to make them a legitimate contender in the NFC. Wouldn't it be nice to have a back up quarterback with starter talent for Drew Brees, a quarterback who can come in and run the wildcat offense, a player who can flat out play with proper instruction gosh darn near any place on the field? If you said yes to any or all of these, then as a fan of the Saints we should all look for them to sign Michael Vick. He might be a project, but the Saints have a good nucleus of coaches and players to make sure that the media focuses on the Saints and not just Vick. Michael Vick has served his time, is doing all the correct things post being incarserated...that teams, [...] Continue reading →
Around the months of March through June, the NFL offseason goes through a hiatus of sorts. It's a natural occurrence this time of year, and usually forces us football fans to span out and watch baseball, or observe the NBA and NHL drafts. However, the past two seasons, NFL fans have been spoiled by the Brett Favre saga. It has kept football fans with a strong grapple on the pulse of the NFL due to Favre's "comebacks." Implications of him coming back have changed team's outlooks on the season and fan's expectations of teams. In 2008, the Jets came in with "playoffs or bust" expectations. Ironically enough, the Vikings of 2009 are in a "Super Bowl or bust" mode. With this set as the highest risk for both parties involved (Favre and the Vikings), there is no higher [...] Continue reading →
