Mark Sanchez

The million dollar question looming in Seattle is centered around Pete Carroll and what he wants to do at the quarterback position. Carroll and Schneider are in a rough position because they have come in during the middle of a horrendous rebuilding process, which was created by former Seahawks general manager Tim Ruskell. Matt Hasselbeck is entering into the final year of his contract and with the amount of injuries he's had over the past two years his future, with the current offense is questionable. The Seahawks have Seneca Wallace and Mike Teel behind Hasselbeck and neither have the complete package to be a 16+ game starter in [...] Continue reading →
Oh man, oh man, what a game this was! Heading into this game were the underdog New York Jets, who looked to surprise the Colts again like they did 40 years ago when Joe Namath and the Jets shocked the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. It looked like from the first half. In the first quarter, both teams were punished by the strong defenses. There were punts flying left and right. This also included a field goal miss by Jay Feely, who is among the many kickers who have been struggling this postseason. The first score came when the Colts failed to deliver a touchdown in the red zone. That meant they had to settle for a field goal. Matt Stover put it up right, and in. 3-0. But everything changed after that. Here came Mark Sanchez, with a powerful run fake and pump fake to trick Dwight [...] Continue reading →
Throughout the 2009 season, I watched the Cincinnati Bengals battle adversity on and off the field. They seemed to take on these challenges and, more often than not, succeeded in winning football games. A strong defense, good rushing attack and a quarterback capable of leading his team with the game on the line resulted in an AFC North championship. On Saturday evening, it all came to an end. Offense I don't recall ever seeing a running back go as hard as Cedric Benson did in this game. He broke tackle after tackle and finished with 169 yards on the ground, a franchise record for a playoff game. Benson accounted for the Bengals' second touchdown with a 47-yard run to the end zone in the fourth quarter. After connecting with Laveranues Coles on an 11-yard [...] Continue reading →
The time has come where we transition from one season into two different seasons. The playoffs and post season and the off season aka looking ahead to the 2010 NFL draft. So far Cal running back Jahvid Best, Tennessee safety Eric Berry, Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford, Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen and other projected first round picks have already declared for the 2010 Draft. So with that being said my first mock draft of 2010 is here. My mock draft order follows the offical order. 1) St Louis Rams: Ndamukong Suh, DT Nebraska Examination: Well the [...] Continue reading →
The Bills traveled north of the border this past Thursday evening to take on their in-state neighbors the Jets. Coming into this game the Bills had high expectations of getting a two game win streak going after a great win against the Dolphins the previous Sunday. Unfortunately, this would turn out to not be the case. This game was probably the WORST all-around game I have seen the Bills play all season. Of course, against the Dolphins the previous week, I thought that was the BEST all-around game the Bills had played all year. Irony, is it not? This game would also be the worst game Ryan Fitzpatrick would play as a starter. Fitzpatrick finished the game 9-of-23 for 98 yards, no touchdowns, one interception and two fumbles (one was thankfully recovered). Being that the QB was having [...] Continue reading →
The New England Patriots made the New York Jets look like the month of March this season.  After the Patriots' Week 2 loss to the Jets, New York was playing the role of the roaring lion coming on to the rest of the league.  Now with the Patriots handing the Jets their sixth loss in seven games, a 31-14 decision, the Jets are going out like lambs.  Not quite the St. Louis Rams, but the Patriots put the silencer on them Sunday, treating them much like they treated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this season.  Something shady had to have been going on behind the scenes. Patriots CB Leigh Bodden caught as many passes from Jets QB Mark Sanchez as WR Jerricho Cotchery (3 receptions for 84 yards) [...] Continue reading →
After the New England Patriots’ 35-34 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football, I said this about Belichick’s plan going forward in how he [...] Continue reading →
The Raiders learned Sunday that reality is harsh as they got pummeled by the Jets 38-0 Before Sunday, the Raiders came up with a big upset beating the Eagles and some players were even talking post season. Raiders Defensive Lineman Richard Seymour said:  “You can mark it down, The Raiders will be in the playoffs in 2009.” But when the scoreboard said 38-0 and Mark Sanchez was enjoying a hot dog on the sidelines, Richard Seymour probably wanted to take that statement back. The Jets ended their three game losing streak and Mark Sanchez showed he can comeback from adversity well after throwing five interceptions last week against the Bills. Sanchez not only avoided interceptions, but [...] Continue reading →
The Jets are on a three game skid and looking to bounce back after a devastating loss to the Bills. Now, they are facing a must win game on the road, at Oakland. Oakland has new found swagger after beating the Eagles 9 -13 and now Richard Seymour  is making a bold prediction. “You can mark it down, The Raiders will be in the playoffs in 2009." The Jets on the other hand, have lost all their swagger starting 3-0 and being on top of the AFC in week three. Now the Jets need to turn their streak around and beat the Raiders Here are the keys for the Jets to win Sunday versus the Raiders Mark Sanchez has to not be terrible: All Mark Sanchez had to do in both the Saints and the Bills games was not to do terrible, and the Jets would have won He has [...] Continue reading →
