It was close....but the Saints pulled one hell of a close game. It took going to overtime, but the Saints came back from being down from 10 points down twice to beat the Washington Redskins 33-30. This was another tough test for the Saints, which are no stranger to coming back from small to very learge debts to end the game with a victory. The biggest play came down to a time out that Coach Sean Payton of the Saints made in overtime. Since there are no challenges in overtime the time out allowed for the officials to review the play multiple times before the time out ended and once the time out was concluded, the call that the Redskins' runningback arm was down before the ball came out was overruled in favor of the Saints who received the ball with very good field position. In last Monday's epic showdown the Saints smothered the Patriots  38-17 at the Superdome. The Saints have long been a bad to mediocre franchise to say the least. This win legitimizes them as a team with an undefeated record on the line, as a franchise looking for prominence and glory, as a city looking for hope through their lovable sports team, as a group of young mean feeling as though they belong at the top of the NFL and should be considered with the NFL's cream of the crops. It is not very often you see a NFL team take out their [...] Continue reading →
What a great overall performance by the Saints! The Saints went out to Tampa and CRUSHED the Bucs 34-7 including  not allowing a point after the 7 minute mark. The Saints had a great game plan, so first and foremost great job by the coaching staff to have prepared well for their divisional game against the Bucs. Without a solid game plan, it would be like not having a solid foundation on a house or building structure you need that in order to build the actual house. Let me dive right in to the Saints who really shined during last week's game. First off is the Offensive Line for the Saints, they really stepped up this past week. Allowing ZERO sacks for their quarterback Drew Brees. Brees had a very efficient day not throwing a pick and not being sacked means he had time to make [...] Continue reading →
