Jets made another splash in free agency by signing former Browns safety Rodney Pool to a one year $1.3 million contract Thursday. Also, L.T. rumors have been all over the web.
First lets discuss Pool, I like this pick-up. Although he has been plagued by injuries the past couple of years, he has produced when he was healthy. He had four interceptions, a sack and 50 tackles in the 10 games he started last year.
In comparison, Kerry Rhodes had 63 tackles, 3 interceptions and no sacks in the 14 games he started.
I also like this pick-up because it reduces the need for safety, originally I thought Eric Smith could handle the job just fine, Pool gives us a security net. Also because of pool, Jets now get to focus on other things in the draft such as a defensive end.
