In the fifth round at #141 the Bears picked CB Joshua Moore from Kansas State. Moore was the second pick the Bears made today.
Moore was an excellent value pick for the fifth round. Three scouts from other teams said he was a third -round value.
At 5-11, 188, Moore has solid height for a corner but isn't the strongest out [...]

With the 109th pick in the fourth round the Bears selected DE Corey Wootton from Northwestern.
First off many Bears fans might be upset that Angelo and Co. used a fourth round pick on a DE, considering they signed Julius Peppers and released veteran Alex Brown all in one off-season. But Wootton has a lot of talent and he was expected to go in the third round.
The 6-6, 270 lbs Wootton [...]

Desmond Clark has spent the last seven seasons with the Bears, appearing in 105 games, catching 241 passes for 2627 yards and 18 touchdowns. Clark came to the Bears in 2003 after spending his first three seasons in Denver and a brief one year stint with the Dolphins.
Clark, who turns 33 in six days has been a very good player for the Bears. He played through injuries last season and with the addition of Brandon Manumaleuna it sure looks like [...]

Alex Brown has latched on to a team rather quickly. Dumped by the Bears last Thursday, Brown was scheduled to visit New Orleans today then head to Tampa Bay on Thursday, but the Saints signed him to a two year deal and he will be playing for the defending super bowl champs.
If you remember the Bears played the Saints to get to Super Bowl XLI and Brown was a big reason why the Bears won that NFC Championship game. It’s going to be weird seeing him another uniform, but I’m glad he got a job where he can getting a starting [...]

A former shutdown cornerback in the NFL, Nathan Vasher was released today by the Bears. During the 2005-2006 he was nicknamed the “interceptor” because of his eight interceptions that season. Ever since that year Vasher, a fourth round pick in 2004 out of Texas has struggled to stay healthy.
The four seasons following the 05-06 season he appeared in 41 games, making 89 tackles and intercepting six passes. Overall in six seasons he had 19 interceptions, but eight came in that one [...]

Former Rams head coach, 49ers offensive coordinator and Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz would like to work with Lovie Smith again if the Bears are interested in Martz as their offensive coordinator.
Martz and Lovie worked together when the Rams were known as “The greatest show on turf”, Martz was the head coach and the offensive guru while Lovie was the defensive coordinator.
Martz is good friends with both coach Lovie Smith and former Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner.
Martz had this to say about the possibility of getting the offensive coordinator [...]

Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher has a good relationship with head coach Lovie Smith and he doesn’t want him to go anywhere, here’s what he had to say about Smith possibly being fired:
“We didn’t have a lot to be happy about, but it wasn’t somber. It wasn’t like it was our last meeting with Coach Smith or anything like that. I didn’t get that feeling.
“(The season) sucked, but two wins in a row was the best we could do with our situation.”
“I’m 1 million percent behind Coach Smith, what happened the last couple of years is not on him. There are not a [...]

Before I start, there's three bits of Rams news to share, the last of which will lead me into the topic of discussion today. First, in case you missed it, Pisa Tinoisamoa signed a one year deal with the Bears last weekend. Tinoisamoa gets reunited with his former coach Lovie Smith and gets to compete along side Brian Urlacher. Pisa will have to compete for a job with the loaded Bears defense, but it's a pretty good deal for him nevertheless. I wish him nothing but the best.
Second, the Rams were officially put up for sale by the Rosenbloom family this past weekend. After a year of of really knowing what they wanted to do and "trying to find the right person in St. Louis," Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez finally decided to officially put the team up for sale. This has created many [...]
