What an improbable win for such an improbable team.
Kansas City is doing what nobody could have ever expected after its 0-3 start. Jamaal Charles, Tony Moeaki and Eric Berry were all lost for the season with torn ACL’s.
Todd Haley and Matt Cassel were screaming at each other on the sideline while a chorus of boos rained down from the Arrowhead faithful.
Yet somehow, someway, this team has risen from the ashes of irrelevance to take it’s place atop the AFC West.
Much will be made of the botched snap by Philip Rivers and rightfully so. If Rivers handles the ball this division looks totally different. The Chiefs are buried and the Chargers are off and running.
But Rivers did fumble. Andy Studebaker did recover. Kansas City did win.
The snap will overshadow what was a [...]

Sunday is another big game for Jacksonville, who is currently sitting at 3-3.
After an absolutely horrible performance on Monday night, the Jaguars hope to bounce back with a win in Kansas City.
The Jaguars look like they will be without both David Garrard and Trent Edwards, who were lost to injuries against Tennessee.
Who does this put at the helm? Jaguars veteran Todd Bouman or recent pick up Patrick Ramsey.
Realistically, it looks like Bouman will be the starter come Sunday.
Bouman has been on and off this team and will finally get his chance to start again at the age of 37.
Other big news for the Jaguars is the safety situation. As I tried to insinuate in earlier articles, the safety position is the large weak point on the defensive side of the ball.
This [...]

With Jamaal Charles, Thomas Jones, Dexter McCluster, Brandon Flowers, and Tamba Hali at the helm, this Chiefs team has the talent to take over the AFC West.
Now they also have the proper coaching to maintain that power, and build a foundation for long term success.
The 3-0 Kansas City Chiefs just came away from their best performance of the season as they blasted the San Francisco 49ers 31-10. It was by far the most complete game this team has played since the beat down in Denver last year.
While it seemed that offensive coordinator Charlie Weis has had a difficult time [...]

The Chiefs are sitting alone in first place of the AFC West. And they want to keep it that way by pulling away in the division to bring their record to a spotless 3-0. Todd Haley could become the fourth coach in Chiefs history to reach 3-0. He would then join a class with Hank Stram, Marty Schottenheimer, and Dick Vermeil.
But one problem stands in their way. A fiery, angry, and motivated 0-2 San Francisco 49ers team.
This will be Kansas City’s toughest game of the season up to this point. Yes, including San Diego [...]

The Chiefs kick off their first away game in Cleveland this weekend.
After the way the team put together a solid performance against a top 10 Chargers team, the red and gold may be hanging their heads a bit too high, and possibly over-looking an inferior Browns club.
The last thing the Chiefs need to happen, is to allow themselves to become over-confident. The Cleveland Browns are a club that has been drowning in their own sorrow for the past 10 years and counting.
If Kansas City wants to prove to everyone that they are for real, they must not only beat Cleveland. But they [...]

The Chiefs went out and shocked NFL nation when they put the hammer down on San Diego by a score of 21-14.
It’s no surprise to some that have followed the Chiefs off-season and management moves throughout the process.
But with as well as guys like Derrick Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Dexter McCluster and Brandon Carr played, the Chiefs have to find a way to balance the offense, and to churn out yards in the passing game when needed.
Despite the win, the Chiefs offense was only able to convert 1 of 11 3rd down attempts.
Charlie Weis was unable to find a good rhythm was quarterback Matt Cassel and the rest of the Chiefs offense. He proved that he doesn’t trust the ball in Cassel’s hands when it matters most.
Although Weis has plenty of reasons to believe that way, the [...]

While I am usually opposed to playing in the hypothetical world of mock drafts, it is intriguing to explore what talent is available to Kansas City in the 2010 draft, and where in the draft progression said talent may be available.
Therefore, I bring you my first Kansas City Chiefs mock draft.
Please not that, especially in the later rounds, the picks are subject to personal preference and will not represent the views of the Chief’s front office to perfection. Despite my sometimes psychic ability, I cannot summon a vision of the Kansas City draft board.
Round 1 pick 5: Bryan Bulaga – Offensive Tackle - Iowa
I doubt both Sam Bradford and Jimmy Clausen go in the top four picks. This means that offensive tackle Russell Okung will not fall to Kansas City at the five [...]

As we head into Week 5, the Chiefs find themselves in a position no team would want to by this point. That being 0-4 on the season. Although the Chiefs are in the re-building phase, no one wants to see their team on the losing end each week, but with a schedule like there's, it was hard to think they would be anything but winless.
Hosting the Cowboys sunday could actually change all of that. Romo's main WR Roy Williams and originally starting RB Felix Jones are both OUT. Normal starting RB Marion Barber is also doubtful with more knee injury issues. Those three accumulate for four of the ten touchdowns on the year for the Cowboys.
While those following are out, that leaves QB Tony Romo two options. One being throw it to Witten, a lot. Witten may be a tight end, but he's also had [...]

Anytime you face a situation where you instantly feel pessimistic about the results, it's usually never a good thing. Then again, when you face a team who was the 2007 Super Bowl champions, and one of the top 3 teams in 2008, things seem to be alittle bit easier on you. Sunday the Chiefs will face their biggest test of the season when they host the New York Giants.
The "G-Men" aren't exactly a team you can make a gameplan around. Usually with teams, you could pick out the "weakness" in an opponent, and utilize that as means to victory, but that is rather hard with the Giants. Considering they don't have any.
Offensively, the Giants could be as deep as they come. Although he has been inconsistent in the past, Eli is letting the NFL know that big brother Peyton isn't the only Manning [...]

I think I speak for everyone when I say "Finally!" (well, maybe not Steelers and Titans fans) but the NFL season is finally upon us.
On sunday, the Chiefs will open the 2009 season with quite the test, as they travel to Baltimore to face off against the Ravens. First and foremost, this will not be an easy game for the Chiefs. The Ravens will be returning all but 2 of their startings from last year, from both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Not only that, but they were able to add some quality players with the addition of Matt Birk at center, and drafting offensive tackle Michael Oher, and linebacker Paul Kruger. Let's not forget, this is the same Ravens who were just one game shy of the Super Bowl last year, when they lost the AFC championship game to the eventual Super [...]
