Sources say that the New York Giants are ready to offer unrestricted free agent, Julius Peppers 100 million dollars for seven years, including a hefty signing bonus. It has been noted that Peppers and his camp will field a minimum of seven offers by week's end.
One year after the Giants were spurned by free agent DT Albert Haynesworth after offering 80 million to come play with Big Blue, the Giants have stepped up their pursuit of a game changing defensive superstar.
On January 16, 2009, Peppers spoke very candidly about not re-signing with the Carolina Panthers. He also expressed the desire or willingness to convert from a defensive end to outside linebacker to fit a 4/3 scheme.

February 2010...It feels like a long off season already. However, as winter turns to spring, I get fired up for some new raw talent that are ready to suit up for Big Blue.
Who do we want? What do we need? How can we find that sleeper pick? Yes, the draft and mandatory mini-camp will never come too soon. I need to get the taste of 2009 out of my mouth.
Enclosed you will find some analysis on a few hot prospects...
Nate Allen, University of South Florida S ( 6'2" 190 pounds)
One of the top safeties on the board and one of the most accomplished defensive players in the history of USF football. This very experienced player started the last 39 games of his college career, including Bowl [...]

The Giants have made some good changes on the defensive side of the ball this off season. Bill Sheridan the first year defensive coordinator, and Mike Wauffle, the six year defensive line coach were let go. Perry Fewell comes in to light a spark under guys like Barry Cofield, Aaron Ross, Michael Johnson, and Osi Umenyiora to name a few.
I want one more change...
I want Aaron Kampman to play for the New York Giants.
This guy is perfect for Big Blue. Kampman has excelled as a defensive end in the 4-3 system for 8 years. Only recently as 2009 was he switched to linebacker; however, the move hurt Kampman & The Packers.
Even though he was getting better as a stand up backer, he often looked uncomfortable in coverage. Kampman will always be better with his hand in the [...]

Heartless.
On a day that was supposed to be filled with great NY Giant memories as fans and players saluted the house that Wellington Mara built, the NY Giants football team laid down with the most uninspiring play I have ever seen.
Even with Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, arguably the best linebacker the NFL has ever seen and clearly the most dominant player to ever wear Giant blue, in the house, this squad could not find enough inspiration to stop the Carolina Panthers on "one" of their first five offensive drives.
The aftermath was just as gutless, as Osi Umenyiora, who is supposed to be one of the team's defensive leaders complained about his playing time, lack of snaps, and the end of his career as a New York Giant.
Hey, Osi...you're under contract, so how about you keep [...]

The Saints stay undefeated...YaHOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Completely pushing the New York Giants around this past Sunday in the Super Dome 48-27. The Saints (5-0) used their bye week from week 5 and had an excellent game plan prepared to make a Giants team - thought to be one of the contenders in the whole NFL, appear to be pretenders against the Saints. The Saints were running on full cylinder and now should start to receive more of the spotlight when the talk swings to legitimate title contenders.
Lets get right into the Star Studded Saints from Week 6...
Drew Brees quarterbacked a perfect game....even his quarterback rating was near perfect (however the heck that thing is tabulated). Brees threw for 367 yards against a fierce Giants defense. Brees also completed 23 of 30 passes, four of [...]

The din from complaining about the NFL’s enforcement of personal fouls for violent play has increased this season – most notably on roughing the passer. Fans are booing louder and longer. Television commentators, who, as a whole, normally praise the NFL at every opportunity, are griping more vociferously. And players are starting to speak out.
A few weeks ago, [...]

In biology you learn about keystone species. A keystone specie is a specie that has a disproportionate effect on its environment relative to its abundance. Example: the Puget Sound starfish is the only predator for the area’s sea urchins. Remove the starfish, and the sea urchin population explodes before utterly overwhelming the creatures/organisms that it preys on. In other words, domino effect.
Insert Osi Umenyiora. Or, rather, exit Osi Umenyiora. The sixth-year defensive end tore the lateral meniscus in his left knee [...]
