Hats off to the New Orleans Saints for winning Super Bowl 44.
They have come a long way since the days of the New Orleans Aints.
The Saints franchise has struggled for most of its existence, and seeing Drew Brees proudly holding the Vince Lombardi Trophy last night shows just how far that franchise has come.
The sight of the Saints players celebrating victory reminded me of another team that came from the bowels of the NFL to ultimately win the sport's richest prize; the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
For years, the Buccaneers were THE biggest joke in the NFL. This was the first team to finish a season winless; in fact the team started off 0-26 until they beat (you guessed it) the Saints.

It's been a little over three weeks since the Philadelphia Eagles officially began their 2010 offseason after a 34-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and already Donovan McNabb trade talks seem to be a more popular discussion than whether or not Brett Favre will retire.
Nine Eagles were named to last weekend's Pro Bowl in Miami--including McNabb, who made his sixth appearance since Drew Brees will be playing with the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV against the Indianapolis Colts.

No I am not mentally disabled. This thought came into my mind when I heard Mike Waufle will be the Raiders D-line coach in 2010.
I know that Al Davis doesn't like to pay his coach's high salaries, Tom Cable is getting $2M in 2010. He doesn't like coach's who want lots of control. I know that the Raiders organization did not want photos of Gruden with Raiders personnel to be on the internet.
But think about the time that Waufle was the Raiders D-line coach...1998-2003. Who was the head coach of that era, Jon Gruden! When J.P Losman signed with the Raiders rumors began to spread it was setting up Jim Fassel to coach Oakland in 2010. This is just as reasonable as the Fassel-Losman connection.

Brooks did not deserve to be mentioned with ZERO.
Zero wins, Brooks has been through his trials and far share of poor teams. Yet nothing as dejected at what I have witnessed thus far into a season. If the Glazers (owners of the franchise) were smart...wanted to do something for their fans (a band aide to the season that is) they would go out and beg on their hands...knees...butts...whatever it takes to get Herman Edwards on a flight from Bristol, Connecticut where he works at ESPN (have no idea where the man lives) and get his ass firmly in front of the team to talk to them about how "you play to win the game". That is the aspect the Buc's seem to be lacking...an intensity....a fire...a passion to go out and play hard, leave it all out on the field.

First, I am excited to be a new writer for NFLTouchdown.Com for all things Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Now, Let's get to it! I am a generally optimistic person, however, when it comes to sports it doesn't take much to turn me into a perenial pessimist. This offseason for the Buc's has spured on a rush of dispair, hopeless outlooks and negative thoughts about the 2009 season and beyond.
