With the Seahawks 2009 season officially over I decided to take a look back and see who stepped up on offense and defense. More importantly who were the MVP's on offense and defense this past season. I had a short list consisting of TJ Houshmandzadeh, Nate Burleson, Justin Forsett, Matt Hasselbeck and John Carlson.
In the end it came down to Forsett and Carlson with John Carlson receiving my vote as the 2009 Seattle Seahawks offensive MVP.
Now some people might question right off the bat, why John Carlson? He was irrelevant for the first eight games of the season. Well there is a reason why [...]

This is the first in a long series of articles reviewing the Seahawks players of 2009. Did they under perform, over perform or just be average? We kick off the series with the Seahawks biggest free agent acquisition from last off season, wide receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh.
The Seahawks rewarded the NFL's most consistent wide receiver with a five year $40 million dollar contract with $15 million guaranteed.
With the Seahawks finishing 5-11 in TJ's first season with the team, needless to say it wasn't happy times in Houshmandzadeh-ville. Houshmnadzadeh looked to some fans and reporters like a smaller [...]

What a decade it has been for the Seattle Seahawks organization and the city of Seattle in general. The Seahawks, one of two original expansion teams along with the Tampa Bay Bucs have been to their highest high and their lowest low (still currently going lower) in franchise history, which is arguably the most successful decade in franchise history.
The Seahawks started out in 2000 still in the AFC West with John Kitna as their starting quarterback so when you take a look at the current Seahawks roster the organization has been through a lot of changes, both good and bad this decade.
If you want to compare the start of the [...]

The title fits perfectly with the play of the Seattle Seahawks today. Seahawks lose 24/7 all day long, and it's headlined by the "Matt Hasselbeck Show".
Over the last few weeks, Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has looked worse than any quarterback in Seahawks history with his inaccuracy, inconsistency and just downright horrendous play.
In the last three weeks including today's game against the Tampa Bay Bucs Hasselbeck is 101/115 for 701 yards, 4 TD's and 5 Int's (four today).
Now overall, other than the five interceptions you might think those stats [...]

When someone says the Seattle Seahawks offense what comes to mind. Matt Hasselbeck, Shaun Alexander (former), TJ Houshmandzadeh, Deion Branch, Bobby Engram, Walter Jones and many other names.
One name that is now well known amongst the NFL's finest is tight end John Carlson, now entering his second season in the NFL.
The Seahawks drafted Carlson in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Notre Damn in the second round. At the time the Seahawks passed on another top tight end Dustin Keller, who wound up being second to Carlson who set many Seahawks records in his rookie season.
This off season the Seahawks wanted to boost their receiving options and signed free agent wide receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh to a five year, $40 million dollar contract.
Houshmandzadeh was added with Nate [...]

John Carlson, a second round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in the 2008 NFL draft. In his rookie season with the Seahawks, Carlson bloomed into one of the top ten tight ends in the National Football League.
In his first season, the rookie out of the University of Notre Damn compliled 627 receiving yards, five touchdown receptions and 55 receptions averaging over 11 yards per catch.
Not only did Carlson have a great statistal season, he broke two Seahawks tight end records and tied another one.
Carlson broke the Seahawks TE [...]

In 2010 the NFL pro bowl will be played in Miami Florida, instead of Hawaii. Now last season the Seahawks had one loan pro bowl on their roster. That player, Julian Peterson, is now in Detroit. Usual Seahawks like Walter Jones, Lofa Tatupu, Patrick Kerney, Matt Hasselbeck etc. Non of them played the entire season and none of them made the pro bowl.
For the Seahawks to have success this season they are going to need all the big contract guys like Jones, Hasselbeck, Housh, Lofa etc are going to need to get back to pro bowl form.
So this list is going to be about three seahawks on offense who will have a great shot at making to pro bowl.
1) WR T.J Houshmandzadeh
Examination: The last Seattle Seahawk WR to make the pro bowl was 19 years ago, and as TJ said in an [...]
