Well, free agency was once again an exciting time for Dolfans. For weeks leading up to free agency, it was speculated that the Dolphins would pursue free agent lineback Karlos Dansby. He is young, fast, athletic, gets sacks, forces fumbles, and snags interceptions. It almost seemed too good to be true. Fans were drooling over him, but of course such a young and talented player would have more than one suitor. It was rumored we would have to outspend big money teams like the Redskins, yet at the end of the day the Phins were the highest bidder, and Dansby is now a Dolphin. This is huge news for the team. The Dolphins became infamous last season for being completely unable to cover tight ends with our LBs. We also had basically zero impact plays from the ILB position [...]

Welcome ladies and gents to the 2010 New England Patriots offseason. I'm happy to be back at it again, as money is getting exchanged in this uncapped free agency period. It's been another minute since the last time you all have heard from me, and my plan is to not give you all 2,000 words. That said, this is the time of the year where plans start getting adjusted by external factors! I'll call these reports the Hindsight Reports because all we are going to do is look back on them and judge. Let me catch you all up on what's been up the last couple of weeks (besides the Combine, more on that jazz later):
-WR Randy Moss conceded that 2010 will most likely be his last season in New England: I think what is interesting about this is that Moss' cited the fact that New England [...]

Well, sorry folks- I've been pretty sick the past few weeks and I haven't had a whole lot of time to write. In fact, I'm still pretty sick but I can't be dormant for this long - so here are the latest goings on in Dolphins land.
I'll start with the most recent. Jeff Ireland had his annual press conference today (seriously, this guy is more secretive than the director of the CIA). One of the most notable moments of the conference was when he spoke about beleaguered free safety Gibril Wilson. Practically the entire Phins Nation is calling for Wilson to get cut, and with no salary cap the Dolphins would suffer no financial ramifications. Ireland, however, defended Wilson- saying he was unfairly blamed for the difficulties of starting 2 rookie corners. He also suggested he will [...]

Well, there have been some rumors about J-Peezy floating around for some time now. Vague reports that he was being a pest during the season, and that (along with his advanced age, and injuries) was likely to get him cut before his 7 figure roster bonus due this March. Those vague rumors, however, have blown up into a full on scandal.
First, Armando Salguero at the Miami Herald said they had received reports that Porter was on a local sports station in California saying he was done with the team, and wanted to be traded. There was, however, no official archive or transcript of this occurrence, and Coach Sparano merely said nothing has been decided yet. After that however, Porter was on ESPN's Jim Rome show, and later on a local Miami show (being interviewed by Channing [...]

After facing one of the hottest teams in the league last week in the Patriots, the Dolphins now get to play one of the worst in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Their lone win of the season came last week against a Green Bay team that many anticipated would be very good this season. So did starting rookie QB Josh Freeman give the Bucs the spark they needed to turn the corner, or is Green Bay just terrible? In my opinion, it is kind of the latter one. The Bucs are still in heavy rebuilding mode, and are not stocked with very much talent right now- so these keys should be short and sweet- in fact, there are really only two main points:
Make the rookie QB look like a rookie: Josh Freeman got his first NFL start last Sunday, and his first NFL win. He did look [...]

I'm not going to write an article to beat up on Miami Dolphins OLB Joey Porter. In fact, after Porter posted donuts in every defensive statistic during the New England Patriots 27-17 defeat of the Dolphins, I have a new found understanding of Porter. No, Porter doesn't hate New England. On the contrary, Joey Porter LOVES the Patriots! Why else would he make it a point to discuss the *championship* background of the Patriots at every opportunity? Because he loves to remind people of the impact the New England Patriots have had on his career (and life in general). Why would he comment so much on QB Tom Brady having his own set of rules? Because if he would have gotten to Brady even once, all of the highlight shows would have shown it, and it would have made Porter warm [...]

You all will have to forgive me, I have to cut this 1SKILLZ Gameplan a little shorter than what you're used to! Moves have to be made! But before I skip town, I have to release the 1SKILLZ Gameplan for the peoples. Joey Porter would like you all to know that the DEFENDING AFC EAST CHAMPION Miami Dolphins (3-4) are coming to New England to face the Patriots (5-2).
Now, Porter and Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano have a good point about the AFC East: the division still goes through them. Now, they are the defending champions. This is about as relevant a point to 2009 as the Tennessee Titans being the defending champions of the AFC South. What IS relevant is that the Dolphins, coming off of a 30-25 win against the New York Jets, control their own destiny with Sunday's game at [...]
