The off-season is here, which means the draft and free agency are coming up very soon. Unfortunately for the Jets, they cannot be an active participant in this years free agency class.
Under the current CBA, which calls for an uncapped year this year, the Jets have to lose a free agent, to sign a free agent. The catch, it has to be of equal value to the player lost. This is because the Jets went to the divisional round and all teams in the divisional round have to follow this rule.
This is particularly bad because the Jets have some needs and one of those needs is on the D-line, and Julius Peppers is a UFA this year. This means the Jets will not get Peppers.
But, their is also the draft where the Jets can fill some needs and maybe they can pull out a trade.
