In 1986, the New York Giants drafted linebacker Thomas Johnson in the second round from Ohio State. Thomas, better known as "Pepper" Johnson, was notorious for putting black pepper on his breakfast cereal.
The name stuck with him his whole life.

Before the ink was even dry on the new multi-million dollar contract for Chris Canty, the New Giants were being touted as one of the best defenses in the league, highlighting what would become one of the best defensive fronts of all time striking fear into quarterbacks league wide.
