Mike Martz is an offensive guru. He coached one of the most prolific offensives of all time in St. Louis, “The Greatest Show on Turf.” But he failed with San Francisco and Detroit, but it might have been because the players didn’t fit his scheme.
The key to his offense is the receivers and the offensive line. The Bears have some solid receivers in Devin Hester, Johnny Knox, Devin Aromashodu and Earl Bennett. I think with the right coaching and play calling they could be the best group in the league.
The offensive line could be [...]

This is the first in a long series of articles reviewing the Seahawks players of 2009. Did they under perform, over perform or just be average? We kick off the series with the Seahawks biggest free agent acquisition from last off season, wide receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh.
The Seahawks rewarded the NFL's most consistent wide receiver with a five year $40 million dollar contract with $15 million guaranteed.
With the Seahawks finishing 5-11 in TJ's first season with the team, needless to say it wasn't happy times in Houshmandzadeh-ville. Houshmnadzadeh looked to some fans and reporters like a smaller [...]

With Pete Carroll's signature on the dotted line on his new five year, $35 million dollar contract that will make him the eight head coach in Seahawks history, as well as the teams executive vice president of football operations.
When Pete Carroll arrived at the VMAC today in Renton to meet the Seattle and national media for the first time as head coach and executive vice president of the Seahawks you could tell right from the first words Carroll said "I'm fired up" that the Seahawks, Paul Allen and Tod Leiweke made the [...]

Some of you Bears fans might be asking who is Jeremy Bates? Why wouldn’t we just hire Mike Martz or Charlie Weis?
First off Jeremy Bates is the 33 year old son to recently fired Bucs defensive coordinator, Jim Bates. Jeremy began his coaching career with the Bucs in 2002 as the offensive quality control coach. By the way the Bucs went on to win the Super Bowl that season. He spent two more seasons in Tampa and then spent one [...]

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler clearly had his best game this season and because of that he has been named the NFC offensive player of the week. He helped the Bears upset the NFC North champion Vikings.
Cutler completed 20-of-35 passes for 273 yards and four touchdown passes to four different receivers. He threw a 39-yard game-winner to Devin Aromashodu in overtime to clinch the 36-30 victory.
Cutler has 23 touchdown passes this season, tying him with Rex Grossman for the second-most in franchise [...]

On Monday night the Minnesota Vikings will travel to the ultra famous Soldier Field of Chicago to take on the Chicago Bears. Coming into the season people circled this game on the calendar, as many thought that it could be a game that determined the NFC North winner or at least have some kind of playoff implication.
Well, they could not have been more wrong. The Vikings have flourished so far this season reaching a 11-3 record through week 15. On the complete other spectrum, the Bears have looked out of sync and without inspiration for much of the season and their 5-9 record has earned them a spot in the top three of the most disappointing teams of the year.
During the off-season both the Vikings and Bears added Pro Bowl quarterbacks to their rosters, Brett Favre and Jay Cutler [...]

The Bears won an ugly one yesterday against the pathetic St. Louis Rams and most importantly snapped a four game losing streak.
The Bears rushed the ball 38 times, with Matt Forte averaging 3.8 ypc on 24 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown. Kahlil Bell added 35 yards on 11 carries. Earl Bennett and Devin Hester both had huge catches early in this game. Bennett with a 71 yard catch and run and Hester with a 48 yard catch and run.
Some other stuff that happened:
Johnny Knox was super on [...]

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre spoke up about Jay Cutler and his play yesterday, here’s what he had to say:
‘‘I think he’s better [at 26 than I was],’ at this stage, he’s way more advanced. Physically, he’s got all the tools. But mentally, he’s way more advanced and able to see defenses and read things. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to want to put it all on your shoulders. And I know that’s what he’s thinking.”
”The comparisons are his arm strength and trying to do too much, but I [...]
