Garrett Wolfe, a third round pick in 2007 out of Northern Illinois has landed on the injured reserve for the second straight season. Wolfe suffered a lacerated kidney in the November 8th blowout against the Cardinals. Wolfe had 22 carries for 120 yards and a touchdown so far this season, averaging 15 yards per carry. He also had nine special team tackles in the eight games he appeared. Wolfe had 21 tackles on special teams last season and was a real leader on the unit. The Bears are looking to add another running back to replace the injured Garrett Wolfe, who is a special teams contributor and running back. Wolfe is expected to be out for 2-4 weeks, with his kidney problems. No, the Bears aren’t looking to add a distraction in Larry Johnson, who was recently released by the Chiefs, but their looking for someone who can help out on special teams. Maurice Hicks might be that guy. The Bears brought him in for physical, but the Bears didn’t sign him because this week is so short.
