Fred Jackson

Brian Brohm played his first game with high expectations all around him, but let the Bills faithful down. Of course, being in New York for the holidays, I was surrounded by people that didn't really expect much from the quarterback or the offensive line that blocks for him. This would be Brohm's first start in the NFL since being drafted by the Packers in the 2008 draft out of Louisville. It is a good thing no one was expecting much, because he never found the end-zone nor did the rest of the team. Brohm finished the game with 146 passing yards on 17-of-29 passing attempts and two interceptions and no touchdowns. The no touchdowns would also spread throughout the rest of the offense like the H1N1 virus. Bills starting running back Fred Jackson only managed to compile a whopping 39 [...] Continue reading →
The Buffalo Bills visited the Kansas City Chiefs this past Sunday and escaped with a victory improving their record to 5-8 overall and 2-1 under new head coach Perry Fewell. Needless to say, a win is a win but it wasn't pretty. Coming into the game, the Chiefs only had three wins themselves so we can say very comfortably that this game wasn't going to be a potential postseason game or [...] Continue reading →
The Bills squish the fish, the Bills squish the fish! I cannot stop saying that phrase. Of course, this phrase was coined back in the 90's when Dan Marino was the QB of the Dolphins and Jim Kelly was the QB for the Bills. None the less, it happened again this past weekend. Despite the Bills entering the game at 0-1 under new head coach Perry Fewell, I have to say this was not the same team as the previous week. This team looked charged on both sides of the ball and everyone did their part to share a win in Western New York. Another bright spot along with Coach Fewell was starting QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. Although Fitzpatrick did not have stellar stats, he looked confident with his offense. Confidence is something Trent Edwards never found this season while attempting to lead the team. [...] Continue reading →
This weeks game against the Cleveland Browns is extremely important for the Bills. Why? It's important because if they lose this one, they may as well eliminate themselves from playoff contention. It is not too early to rule out the teams that will not make the playoffs from the AFC. Along with Buffalo, if they happen to lose this weekend, you can count out Oakland (like that is a surprise), Kansas City (never should have gotten rid of Herm Edwards or Tony Gonzalez), Tennessee (been sticking with Jeff Fisher for way too long), Miami (can't decide on a quarterback or a running back) and Cleveland (who now has no one at receiver for whichever quarterback is playing). By now, if your offense and defense isn't clicking by Week Five, you have huge problems. The only time both Bills' [...] Continue reading →
And so the Chad Henne era begins.  Henne is now the 13th starting QB the Dolphins have had since Dan Marino, and he will be making his first start against the same team Marino first faced 26 years ago.  Is it a good sign?  Let's hope so, because we need this win in the worst way.  With the Jets so far undefeated, we are already 3 games back in the playoff race.   A win against Buffalo would kick them down into the cellar, and let us move up on spot closer to taking the division (we would both be 1-3 but with a better AFC East record we would have the tie breaker).  So what will it take to win this game? Protect Henne, but let him play: The offensive line, and the run game really have to step it up for this game.  There were some issues with pass protection last [...] Continue reading →
Great game for the Saints. If you were to tell me that the Saints were to go on the road, to play in fair cold environment, hold the opposing team to less than 10 points,  Brees to not through a touchdown, and the Saints were going to come up winners...I would not believe you. But that is exactly what the Saints did in their week 3 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, with the final score 27-7. Before I get into this week's Star Studded Saints, here is a recap through week 2... (2) RB Mike Bell (2) QB Drew Brees (2) OL Jermon Bushrod (2) SS Darren Sharper (1) O-Line (1) Defense (1) WR Marques Colston (1) SS Roman Harper (1) P Thomas Morstead (1) LB Scott Shanle (1) MLB Jonathon Vilma This week the Saints Defense gets a star for numerous reasons I was [...] Continue reading →

Well, it has taken 48 hours to digest what happened to the Bills the other night. It seemed to be nothing short of a locked  in win up until about the last 3 minutes and 26 seconds of the game. This win would have made a statement on behalf of the Bills as a being a true force to be reckoned with in the AFC. OK, lets talk about this. What looked good and what looked bad. First the good. Trent Edwards had a great game, period. Edwards completed 15 of 25 passes for a total of 212 yards and two TD's.  Of course, his completions would have been a little better if Terrell "my toe hurts/butter fingers" Owens would have caught the ball. Owens finished the game with 2 receptions for 46 yards and Evans, oh Evans, finished with three catches for only 25 yards. The Bills two touchdowns were [...] Continue reading →
The Buffalo Bills are bringing back the no-huddle offense for the up-coming season, the same offense that won them four straight AFC Championships. The question is, what the heck took them so long? Before the start of last season, fans listened to new offensive coordinator Turk Schonert talk about big changes to the offense and the addition of formations that would be used for the no-huddle offense they were trying to install.  In reality though, the Bills used the no-huddle very sparingly last season.  Due to their lack of creativity of the coaches and the lack of talent on the field, the Bills, for the second straight season, turned into one of the most predicable offenses in the NFL. If I [...] Continue reading →
