Dwayne Bowe

As a fan, it's difficult to watch your team go down in defeat, especially when you are 3-12, and your season has been over for nearly 6 weeks now. Being ranked in the bottom 5 in defense and offense isn't helping, and knowing that your defensive change, didn't really help much, doesn't exactly heal all wounds. So what can you take from this season as a Chiefs fan? One thing is unity. Take a look at the roster. Your offense consists of running backs who are solid backs, but nothing more. Your wide receivers depend on Dwayne Bowe, who misses 90% of the season because of injury, suspension, and other off-field activites. Then what do you have? An offensive line with a lack of depth, by any means, and a quarterback who's only season in the league wenty from throwing to Two Pro Bowlers, to [...] Continue reading →
This week marks the first time in weeks that the Chiefs have been able to have their Pro Bowl caliber WR Dwayne Bowe in the line-up. Prior to the match-up against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bowe was suspended by the NFL for use of an illegal substance. Now that his suspension is up, Bowe is allowed to return to the field. The question that rises from this is simple. Should Todd Haley let Dwayne Bowe play? Personally, I vote for "No", and I don't think twice about it. Let's just see for example, where trouble within the locker room has gotten teams recently. Cincinnati Bengals never had that kind of issue.... Oh wait. Well hey! What about Jacksonville... Oh wait. Upon further thought, lack of discipline hasn't gotten any team, anywhere. For those who don't recall, Bowe isn't exactly on [...] Continue reading →
In a quite interesting move, the Chiefs didn't  let 2005 pro bowl wide receiver Chris Chambers stay unemployed for long. After being put on waivers monday by the San Diego Chargers, the Chiefs have decided to claim Chambers off waivers just 24 hours after his released. Per profootballtalk (PFT) Chris Chambers has been claimed by the Chiefs. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/03/chiefs-claim-chris-chambers/ Unfortunately for the Chiefs, this isn't the same Chambers that was in Miami. Nagging injuries to his ankle have severely tarnished his career, taking him from a 70 catch 1000 yard [...] Continue reading →
"Will the real Matt Cassel, please stand up?" For those on the Chiefs football team that didn't stand up, congratulations, you were on the trade block. I wish I could have made this up. The last week of the NFL has been one of the most exciting that the league has ever had around the time of the trade deadline. The Chiefs themselves even made a move, dealing nose tackle Tank Tyler to Carolina for an undisclosed draft pick in 2010. By the looks of it, it doesn't seem like Tyler was the only Chief who was wondering about where his home will be next week. As the old saying goes, "Peace Sells, but Who's Buying?" Apparently, Todd Haley and Scott Pioli sure aren't. There was no secret to Haley's minimal stance for misbehavior by his newly acquired team during training camp this past [...] Continue reading →
From the moment Todd Haley was hired, I speculated that he and Scott Pioli would be making a few changes around Kansas City, but I certainly didn't expect this many. As I mentioned in another article, I mentioned that rumors were flying around that Dwayne Bowe could soon be "bleeding" another color other than red. Apparently, he's not alone. Over the last 36 hours, rumors started going around that two former first-round picks Glenn Dorsey and Derrick Johnson are on their way out as well. Dorsey(2008 first round pick) and Johnson (2005 first round pick) were both said to be in the "doghouse" with Haley from day one. Johnson has reportedly "not worked up to his potential", and effectively didn't even start game one of the season. Glenn Dorsey, who many considered a bad fit for the 3-4 [...] Continue reading →
As of 5:30 yesterday, ESPN's Adam Schefter announced that the Chiefs are willing to trade star wide receiver Dwayne Bowe. "... If a team out there made a good offer for Bowe, he would be gone tomorrow" Adam Schefter told ESPN on Thursday. Schefter would also go on to add that "Like I said, outside of [Matt] Cassel and [Tyson] Jackson, there's no Chief who can't be had for the right price. New regimes like their own players; this is not something new to Haley and Scott Pioli. This is a universal truth." For those interested, here's a link to the story. [...] Continue reading →
This is the time of year that every fan of every team says it, "This is our year." It's during that time of training camp where every fan hopes for the best. For as much as I will say I am intrigued with the Chiefs, I don't think it's this year, but that doesn't mean they are out of it, yet. Here's a good list of reasons why I believe that. (1) From the information I can get (and let me say this, being that I'm from the Pittsburgh area, it's not easy keeping up with the Training Camp in Kansas City!!) The Chiefs look to be making progress in camp. Todd Haley is holding high expectations of all his players in camp, which I first and foremost applaud. From what I've seen, players (and especially Chiefs fans) did not think highly of former HC Herm Edwards because he was being labeled as [...] Continue reading →
Seeing as Training Camp just recently started up around the NFL, what more would anyone want to know than some training camp notes! I just thought I'd pass along some news, notes, and other information worth mentioning that I've managed to dig up from the Chiefs. First and foremost, the good. Rookie DE Alex Magee showed up for practice, and early at that. (Sounds like nothing much, but it is good considering Tyson Jackson was late and showed up to camp still unsigned!) From a Chiefs fans standpoint, there was good news from division rivals camps. Broncos 1st rounders Knowshon Moreno and Robert Ayers were both unsigned still until Ayers signed around monday night, and Moreno is still unsigned. Two thumbs up for having your rivals players unsigned and not showing up for training camp? I [...] Continue reading →
