Brady Quinn is as Irish as it gets.
OK, he's not from Ireland, or even a red head, but his last name suggests Irish roots.
And it doesn't end there, no it's only the beginning laddie.
Aye, Quinn played in Dublin. Well, Dublin, Ohio at Dublin Coffman High School.
At Dublin High, Quinn played well enough to be listed as ESPN's No. 20 on the list of 100 top prep football players.
Next up for this Irish lad was what other than Notre Dame.
As the leader of the Fighting Irish, Quinn broke and set 36 Notre Dame passing records; including completions, yards per game (239.6) and touchdowns [...]

The second installment of the Patriots Free Agency Hindsight Report is ready for release after a significant week of movement! Enough intro, let's get right into it here:
-TE Ben Watson is officially a member of the Cleveland Browns. No surprise that they lost him - they didn't have a lot of incentive to bring back a player that only had one season with at least 40 catches and 500 yards (2006 his third season: 49 catches, 643 yards, 3 TDs). In fact, the Patriots faced almost the same situation in 2007 when they let 2002 first round pick TE Daniel Graham go after five seasons (none with at least 40 catches and 500 yards). More on this later.
-CB Leigh Bodden re-signed with the Patriots. His new contract is for 4 years, $22 million, with $10 million guaranteed. Starter's [...]

Welcome ladies and gents to the 2010 New England Patriots offseason. I'm happy to be back at it again, as money is getting exchanged in this uncapped free agency period. It's been another minute since the last time you all have heard from me, and my plan is to not give you all 2,000 words. That said, this is the time of the year where plans start getting adjusted by external factors! I'll call these reports the Hindsight Reports because all we are going to do is look back on them and judge. Let me catch you all up on what's been up the last couple of weeks (besides the Combine, more on that jazz later):
-WR Randy Moss conceded that 2010 will most likely be his last season in New England: I think what is interesting about this is that Moss' cited the fact that New England [...]

As promised, my first NFL Mock Draft of the season continues with picks 11-20. The top ten looked to not have as many surprises, but with a lot of talent left on the board, we are sure to have another interesting first round this season. With players such as Dez Bryant, Taylor Mays, and CJ Spiller left on the board, it will be curious to see where they land in April.
11. Denver Broncos ( via Chicago)- Navorro Bowman OLB Penn State
The Broncos finish the season at 8-8, with some few needs to fill. However, the defense still has a few gaping holes. They were 27th against the run this season, which to me senses more depth is needed at the linebacker position. Bowman is arguably the best out there, and has the athleticism to play any defensive scheme the Broncos play [...]

NFL draft,

Seahawks
First off this is just a rumor, thought up three weeks ago by ESPN NFC West blogger Mike Sando. Sando, who is a good friend of mine, suggested that the Seahawks could package one of their top three draft selections in the 2010 NFL draft as well as Deion Branch, who has underperformed in Seattle to the Denver Broncos in exchange for the standout Brandon Marshall, who is a restricted free agent this off season.
Sando does bring up a good point about shipping Branch and one of the Seahawks first three [...]

This is your "no duh" news of the week.
Just because of the day and a half worth of a delay, I thought maybe Shanny was having second thoughts. Fortunately, that wasn't the case.
Mike Shanahan is the Redskins new head coach.
Personally, I like the hire. Shanahan knows football and has succeeded with different types of teams.
I know he only has one play-off win since Elway, but the guy kept the Broncos in perennial play-off contention after Elway retired. He also worked with Jake Plummer to get Denver to the AFC Championship in 2005 and [...]

As a fan, it's difficult to watch your team go down in defeat, especially when you are 3-12, and your season has been over for nearly 6 weeks now. Being ranked in the bottom 5 in defense and offense isn't helping, and knowing that your defensive change, didn't really help much, doesn't exactly heal all wounds.
So what can you take from this season as a Chiefs fan? One thing is unity. Take a look at the roster. Your offense consists of running backs who are solid backs, but nothing more. Your wide receivers depend on Dwayne Bowe, who misses 90% of the season because of injury, suspension, and other off-field activites. Then what do you have? An offensive line with a lack of depth, by any means, and a quarterback who's only season in the league wenty from throwing to Two Pro Bowlers, to [...]

With Charlie Frye making his first start since week 6 last year the Raiders seemed to be big underdogs heading into Sunday's game at Denver. Charlie Frye only had 3 quarters of playing time before going out with a concussion. Then JaMarcus came in. Who wasn't thinking here we go again. Russell was 1 of 4 for 4 yards when he got banged up on a hard hit. J.P Losman (#7) came into the game and he had 1 play, an incomplete pass. Then Russell came back in, after missing 1 play. He converted a 4th and 10 to Tony Stewart. Later he put the 10 yard go ahead touchdown pass to Chaz Schilens. Russell was 5/11 for 47 yards and that TD. He also had trouble avoiding pressure and he had a fumble that was recovered by Mario Henderson for a loss of 14 yards.
That [...]

The Raiders and Broncos have had a reverse effect on home field advantage lately. Last year the Broncos had a blow out Monday night win at Oakland while the Raiders shocked the Broncos later that year at Mile High. Earlier this year the Broncos blew out Oakland 23-3 in a game for the AFC West lead. The Raiders are now on their 3rd quarterback of the year with Charlie Frye starting in place of the injured Bruce Gradkowski and the ineffective JaMarcus Russell. The Broncos are playing for a playoff spot while the Raiders are playing for pride. This was the scenairo last year when the Raiders stunned the Broncos at Denver late in the season.
Charlie Frye vs. His Nerves: Frye has gotten the nod from Tom Cable to be the starter for the Raiders. It [...]

The Colts had this game right from the start. It was just an easy game. Although the Titans were on a five-game winning-streak, and looking dangerous, the Colts were on a eleven-game winning-streak, and counting, as they move on to 12-0.
Joseph Addai played well, scoring the team’s first touchdown, and having another one, along with 79 yards.
Peyton Manning threw for 270 yards along with a touchdown. Vince Young played well, and was looking to for a win after playing his best game of his career just last week against the Arizona Cardinals. He passed for 241 yards with two touchdowns and one pick.
The Titans had a lot of chances to win this game. They had wasted opportunities in the red zone, and the score should have been much tighter. Nate Washington had a chance to put up a [...]
