For the 31st pick of the NFL Draft, many expected the Colts to draft an offensive tackle or someone like that. People were just hoping for someone who can contribute on offense.
But I guess the Colts will do that in the later rounds, picking up Jerry Hughes, defensive end/linebacker from TCU. In my opinion, I really don't see this as that bad of a pick.
I say Hughes could be one of the futures of the Colts. I think the Colts will rotate him at many positions. He could be a very valuable asset to the franchise. Before we get into this, let's take a look at his career profile in college and such.

With Adam Vinatieri out for six weeks, the Indianapolis Colts signed former
Baltimore Ravens kicker Matt Stover, 41. Stover played against the Colts during Indy’s 15-6 Divisional Playoff win over B-More in the 2007 Playoffs.
But the Stover signing isn’t much of a surprise as people expect. What really might be a surprise is that the Colts cut defensive tackle Ed Johnson, for the second straight time, in just 13 months. Johnson was cut the first time due to a drug possession which violated the NFL policy and rules.
But the Colts didn’t release for character, it was performance.
“Just overall, it was production. It was a lack thereof,” Coach Jim Caldwell said. “I know some might be wondering if it was a character issue and it was not.”
