Greg Olsen was supposedly Jay Cutler’s go to guy and they had clicked from day one of training camp, but last season Olsen didn’t play up to the level people thought he could have.
Fast forward to this off-season and the Bears have already made a lot of changes. They hired a new offensive line coach, offensive coordinator, promoted Rod Marinelli to defensive coordinator, released over the hill lineman Orlando Pace and they are said to be interested in Julius Peppers once free agency starts this Friday.
The new offensive coordinator Mike Martz replaced Ron Turner, who [...]

This may be insignificant news but the Bears brought back undrafted wide reciever Eric Peterman on a one year deal. They signed him out of Northwestern after the draft and he was released before the season started. They also signed big 6′8″ tight end Richard Angulo, who has played 28 games for the St. Louis Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings in his short career.
I think these are solid moves considering the Bears wide receivers are already young and Mike Martz likes to use a lot of them at a time. Peterman is a [...]

The Bears clearly have their #1 and #2 receivers in Devin Hester and Earl Bennett, but the question is who will be the odd man out with all of those receivers in the mix.
Brandon Rideau has had a good camp, Johnny Knox and Juaquin Iglesias have looked real solid and Rashied Davis is on the roster.
Then you have seventh round pick Derek Kinder and journeyman Devin Aromashodu.
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler said this about the receivers after practice at Soldier Field last night:
“I think D.A. is coming along really well, [...]

The Bears have weapons on offense for Jay Cutler.
I don’t understand why no one sees that.
Tight ends Greg Olsen and Desmond Clark are probably the best tight end tandem in the NFL and running back Matt Forte was the Bears leading receiver last season.
The Bears haven’t really had good wide receivers over the last couple of years.
Personally I like the Bears wide receivers, but I have to admit they’re very inexperienced.
Besides Hester and Davis, none of them haven’t caught a pass in the NFL.
ESPN says the Bears have no chance to win the division because they didn’t surround Jay Cutler with [...]

Devin Hester is currently the number one receiver on the Bears roster.
Everyone knows that the Bears receivers aren’t the most popular group around the league.
Hester struggled all last season juggling his time as a return man and a receiver.
The Bears have plans for him to be the punt returner, while Danieal Manning takes over duties at kick returner full time. Two rookie receivers, who might see some time in the return game, if Hester struggles are Juaquin Iglesias and Johnny Knox.
Hester spoke up about his plans are for the 2009 season, this is what he had to say:
“I think a [...]

Jay Cutler was asked about the WR situation and this is what he said:
“I’m 100 percent comfortable [with the wide receivers], I think we added some depth with some younger guys and then some of the older veterans are stepping up and playing well. So I think we’ve got more than enough to compete.”
“I haven’t talked to Brandon Marshall, he’s a great player, Brandon is, and I played with him for three years, put up a lot big numbers with him, and wherever he ends [...]

Rashied Davis will be entering his fifth season with the Bears.
In his first season, 2005, he was strictly a cornerback, who played on special teams.
In 2006, he made the switch to wide receiver and he caught 22 passes, for 303 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2007, he struggled, catching only 17 passes for 165 yards and no touchdowns.
Last season, he was a starter and he caught 35 passes for 445 yards and two touchdowns.
When he made the switch to wide receiver, the Bears used him as the #3 slot receiver and that’s what they’ll use him as this season.
People have [...]
