Buffalo Bills

The Bills are making moves in free agency, however they are few and far between. Clearly, the Bills organization, being a small franchise, are afraid of what a no cap season will bring. Buffalo's first signing since free agency began last Friday is OL Cornell Green. Green continues his ten year playing career, most recently the last three years with Raiders, with Buffalo. Green had several visits lined up, but once he [...] Continue reading →
As I predicted throughout the season, Terrell Owens will not be returning to Buffalo next season. The Bills announced this week that they will not pick up the second year option on the receiver that Buffalo gave the "key to the city" less than a year ago. Terrell had less then a stellar year with the Bills this past season. Of course, not all of his short comings were his fault. Throughout the season the Bills fired their offensive coordinator two weeks [...] Continue reading →
The Buffalo Bills announced the retirement of starting right tackle Brad Butler on Thursday. Butler, a 26 year old, 4 year veteran out of Virginia was a fifth round draft choice in 2006. Butler was nothing but consistent starting all but 2 games in his career before going down with a serious knee injury in Week 2 of the season against Tampa Bay. Butler plans on becoming a civil servant within the political spectrum. After interning with the Kemp Partners, named after the late Bills great Jack Kemp, Butler, who majored in [...] Continue reading →
The Bills 2009 draft class brought broken knees, league leading interceptions and several tackles. of course, almost all the players taken were defense, I wonder why? Well, the Bills season is still not out of our heads after what was supposed to be a surprise playoff year with a busy off-season and a "win at all stakes" mentality. Of course, we know how this story ends right? I mean, I don't have to go through it and write about again, do I? Please say I don't. None [...] Continue reading →
George Edwards, (pictured left showing Zach Thomas how to tackle) has been on the job less than a month at Florida, was named the Defensive Coordinator for the Buffalo Bills this week. George brings with him one heck of a resume including 15 years of collegiate and professional coaching experience. Edwards held the position of linebackers coach for the Cowboys from 1998 to 2001. In 2002, Edwards went to the Redskins under the title of Assist. Defensive Coordinator and [...] Continue reading →
There are so many things to mention about the Bills since the end of the season, I don't know where to begin but I will sure as hell try. We all know that the Bills "big name coach" is Chan Gailey, right? Well do you know who the rest of his staff is? Are they big names too? You will have to answer this question after you read these names. Buffalo hired George Cortez as quarterbacks coach, Bruce DeHaven as special teams coach and Stan Hixon as receivers coach. Adrian White was also retained from the previous coaching staff. White is the third coach retained from the previous staff by Gailey, joining Catavolos and Bob Sanders. Wow, what a blockbuster staff!!!! Get excited, there are still some spots to be filled, which I am sure will be done in the coming weeks. Let's see, the [...] Continue reading →
With the 2010 Draft becoming the center of attention, one of the many players making some noise is former Clemson running back CJ Spiller. Spiller was one of the prolific players in college football while with the Tigers. Spiller finished with 7,592 all purpose yards, along with 40+ career touchdowns in his college career. Spiller obviously brings a top ten talent to this draft class, with the ability to be a running back, receiver, and even a kick returner. One problem though, which is most of the league is satisfied at their running back positions and will draft for other needs. If Spiller is available from the mid to late rounds, it is quite [...] Continue reading →
Yup Bills fans, your Buffalo Bills have hired Chan Gailey to lead them to the promise land. Now you may be asking yourself, "who is this big name coach and how did he get this dream position coaching the Bills?" The answer to that question is, I don't know who he is and what he has done nor does anyone else. Now, I could go into his coaching history and give his background, but guess what, he doesn't have one. He coached the much hated Dallas Cowboys a few years back for two seasons going [...] Continue reading →
Bills rookie free safety, Jairus Byrd is in the running for rookie of the year honors. Drafted in the second round out of Oregon in the 2009 draft, Jairus has already proven himself to be an extreme threat to any opposing quarterback. Jairus finished the season tied for first place in the NFL with nine interceptions and recorded 45 tackles in 14 games. Jarius will also be playing in the Pro Bowl in February as the lone member of the Bills. Jairus does have some stiff competition on [...] Continue reading →
Dear Loyal Bills' Fans, Please allow me to apologize for another long, frustrating, boring, uneventful and non-playoff season. Adding to the last eight years of a playoff drought, I regretfully add this past season as our ninth season without post-season play. Yes, I agree with you that we have done very little at retaining great players, drafting well and sticking with a coach. We also have a very hard time maintaining an offensive scheme, maintaining quarterbacks and running backs and following [...] Continue reading →
