The word schism has been thrown around about the Minnesota Vikings a couple different times this season. Each time the conflict has involved Brett Favre and the way he goes about his career in the NFL.
The first time I heard the word schism mentioned was when it was reported that the Vikings locker room was split on the decision to bring in Favre. This problem quickly went away when Favre took the field and led the Vikings to six straight wins to start the season.
Then around a week ago, I heard the now infamous word again. This time it was reported that their was a new schism in the Vikings locker room, but this time it was between Favre and head coach Brad Childress. It all started when TV cameras caught a heated exchange between Favre and Childress on the sideline of the Sunday [...]

There was a time when T.J. Houshmanzadeh was a big house hold name in Minnesota. (No pun intended) A time when the many Minnesota Vikings fans could almost dream of seeing the long named athlete streaking down the sidelines, a football in hands, and a Metrodome crowd booming with cheers.
Yet oddly enough, those days have come and gone, and Housh is a distant and faded memory from the average Minnesota sports fan's mind.
Ever since he joined the Seattle Seahawks this past off-season through the NFL free agency, Vikings fans have pushed him out of their lives and out onto the [...]

All over the NFL on Tuesday, fans, players and critics alike rejoice for the signing of Brett Favre to the Minnesota Vikings... except for Green Bay Packer fans... then Tuesday was a day of mourning.
To be fair, the Favre signing has brought out three different responses, each unique and passionate in some degree. To those in Green Bay and Packers fans abroad, the signing is seen as a cardinal sin and now has Packer fans ripping the cheese from their brains in disgust.
Another is the response of Minnesota Vikings fans that praise the fact that the quarterback leading them is not a no-namer, but most likely the most famous quarterback to ever play the game.
Then there's everone else, that are caught to the point of being overjoyed that [...]

The Minnesota Vikings have been silent all offseason to answering their needs during free agency. On top of that, the Vikings scratched 78 names off of their potential draft picks before the draft and thus narrowing the field even more. As such, many who became spoiled by Minnesota's '09 offseason spending spree were deflated by the lack of activity from the Vikings this offseason.
Lone and behold, the Vikings make a bold move in the NFL Draft by selecting Percy Harvin #22 overall. A move that is considered very uncharacteristic of Head Coach Brad Childress and company. Even more so was the fact that it was a day-of-decision.
Harvin possesses the great ability to take it the distance every time from several positions on the field. He has natural hands and a certain quickness that [...]

As the offseason now enters it's final stages before training camp, teams are now fumbling their last minute grabs off of free agency. However, some teams, like the Minnesota Vikings can only measure their offseason based on whom they didn't resign.
The Vikings have been littered with many questions other then just who their starting quarterback will be come the start of the 2009 season. The Vikings face the looming issue of the end of 2012 season and no where to play in the state of Minnesota as they will have to leave the Metrodome.
On top of that, Brad Childress for a little over a season now has been pacing the Minnesota sidelines with a giant target on his back. Many have looked at his coaching style and find it too conservative for they type of players/talent they [...]
