The 2010 NFL Draft is less than three months away. Prospects are now getting ready for the Senior Bowl, and begin preparing for the combine. Some experts say this is one of the more deeper classes in the past decade, even one of these writers saying this is the best class "since the class of Dan Marino". With that in mind, I have come up with a list of the top five prospects that will make an impact with their respective teams in 2010. 5. CJ Spiller- A potential top 10 talent, CJ Spiller is facing a situation where he may end up being selected anywhere within the draft. There are not many needs for a running back, especially in the first round. However, a few teams can use his [...] Continue reading →
There are so many things to mention about the Bills since the end of the season, I don't know where to begin but I will sure as hell try. We all know that the Bills "big name coach" is Chan Gailey, right? Well do you know who the rest of his staff is? Are they big names too? You will have to answer this question after you read these names. Buffalo hired George Cortez as quarterbacks coach, Bruce DeHaven as special teams coach and Stan Hixon as receivers coach. Adrian White was also retained from the previous coaching staff. White is the third coach retained from the previous staff by Gailey, joining Catavolos and Bob Sanders. Wow, what a blockbuster staff!!!! Get excited, there are still some spots to be filled, which I am sure will be done in the coming weeks. Let's see, the [...] Continue reading →
Everything that has happened this year in the NFC has built up to the NFC Championship which will take place on Sunday in New Orleans. The game will pit two strong offenses, and two opportune defenses against each other, as the Minnesota Vikings challenge the New Orleans Saints. Coming into the playoffs the numbers pointed to these two teams as the most likely match up; the Saints finished the regular season with a 13-3 record and grabbed home field advantage throughout the playoffs, and the Vikings countered with a very impressive 12-4 record to secure the second seed in the NFC. Some pointed to the Cowboys as a team that could break up this match up and others said it was going to be Cardinals, but both were easily ousted and we are left with the best possible match up. Come game time [...] Continue reading →
45-14 Saints WIN!!! If you were a casual fan watching the game you would have been sorely disappointed in the game that took place at the Super Dome last weekend because of the lop-sided finished. But, if you were a a Saints fan the game was better than a warm beignet from Cafe Du Monde. After the Cardinals first offensive position (one run for 70 yards into the end zone) the Saints were in complete control. It was a whole team effort. Their defense did exactly what it has done all season long: hold the opposing offense a couple of times, play opportunistic defense, make big plays, and cease their opportunities. The offense was led by-their seemingly perennial MVP candidate-quarterback Drew Brees who had another great day at the office.  Brees was diffently prepared for the [...] Continue reading →
The Buccaneers have just finished their 2009 campaign with a record of 3-13 under rookie head coach Raheem Morris. There were rumors swirling around that the Bucs we're going to try to convince Bill Cowher to be the head coach for the 2010 season. Those rumors were quickly put to bed when it was announced earlier this week that Morris would indeed be returning for his 2nd season as head coach. Some fans were disappointed and annoyed that Morris was coming back because they fell he is not qualified to be a successful head coach. While there is no debating that Morris had some issues during his first season, I have no problem bringing him back next year. Yes, at the beginning of the season he had that "'deer in the headlights" look and appeared to be in over his head. When [...] Continue reading →
After spraining a ligament in his knee, Mark Sanchez is oficially benched for Sunday's game against the Bucs. Kellen Clemens will not even make the trip to Tampa Ryan said about benching Sanchez “It’s just not going to be this week. I have a lot of confidence in Kellen Clemens and I think that instead of delaying this decision, I’m just going to make it now.” Sanchez was not a happy camper about being benched as Ryan said "He's mad as a hornet at me." To me this is a great decision, why risk a much worse injury against the Bucs. This will give an oppurtunity for Sanchez to sit out a week, let the knee heal, and come back fresh for next game vs. the Falcons. Kellen Clemens will have a lot of help with the Jets' dynamic run game. It does not hurt also, that the Bucs [...] Continue reading →
If you didn’t know Michael Vick is officially a free man. I feel that Michael Vick has done his time and deserves a second chance. I think he should he be reinstated to the NFL very soon. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he will take care of Vick soon. I think the Chicago Bears should consider adding Michael Vick. Here are my five reasons why they should add Michael Vick: 1) Because he is a much better backup than either of the unproven quarterbacks the Bears have behind Jay Cutler. 2) Because the Bears could use more wildcat formations, with [...] Continue reading →
By Dan Parzych The last weekend of April is one of the best times of the year for die-hard football fans. Two straight days of Mel Kiper and the rest of ESPN's NFL crew hosting the NFL Draft. 32 teams selecting players in hope that they will lead their team to the promised land in the near future. Last weekend's draft left fans with full of surprises. Former Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford cashed in with the first overall pick ( $41.7 million in guaranteed money) in hopes of helping the Detroit Lions turn around a disastrous season as they became the first team in history to go 0-16. Mark Sanchez ended up replacing Brett Favre in New York after the Jets traded up to acquire the former Southern California quarterback with the fifth overall pick. Everybody was [...] Continue reading →
By Exsquid By now, everyone knows that the official NFL schedule for 2009 was released Tuesday.  It is that time of the football season to look at your opponents and forecast how your team will fair in the upcoming season. The preseason for the Texans is fairly unimpressive, with the exception of a Monday Nite Football game against Minnesota in week three.  This is the preseason game where the starters get their most playing time and you can get a decent feel for how they are shaping up.  Whether the Vikings go with Gus Frerotte or John Booty, doesn't really matter in this game.  What does matter, is how the Texans offense does against the Viking defense. Houston has the 15th toughest schedule in the league this year, but the divisional games are spread out over the course of [...] Continue reading →
