Same Ol’ Jets Lose to the Phins Again

November 1, 2009 by

After starting 3-0 and talking up a storm, the Jets are going into the bye 4-4  after losing to the Phins.

Here is why the Jets lost today:

1. The Special Teams: Really? to back to back touchdown returns from Ted Ginn Jr.? They play played pathetic. Each time there where multiple times they could have easily gotten Ginn but he just got passed them.

The Jets easily could have ran away with this game if this didn’ t happen as the Dolphins only had 166total yards!

2. A Crappy Referee Call: The two point conversion which the Jets completed got called back when a referee called illegal shift. This forced the Jets back five yards and eventually failed.

There was no illegal shift in that play and the guy was still when Sanchez called hike. This was a game changer as Jets could have easily kicked a field goal and tied the game if they where down by three.

3. A Crappy Play Call By Brian Schottenheimer: It was 2 and 5 with a minute thirty left, Jets where on the Dolphins’ eight yard line and where smelling the goal line. Then Brian Shottnheimer called a pass play. This lead to an incomplete pass, then on third down a sack, then on fourth a failed conversion.

The Jets have the best running game in the league, POUND THE BALL WITH THOMAS JONES! Thomas Jones easily could have converted that yardage in two plays if the ball was given to him.

In other news Sanchez was clutch at the end of the game going nine for his last 13 and converting a fourth and long on the Dolphins 27, with two minutes left.

The Defense also played spectacular shutting down the wildcat and holding the Phins to only a 166 yards total.

In the end it just wasn’t enough.

Special teams did the Jets in. Ginn has killed Miami this season. Remember, he had the big touchdown catch in Week 5 on Monday night, too.
