Both the Raiders and Browns have had forgettble seasons.  The Raiders (5-9) and the Browns (3-11) have had a quarterback battle but the Browns just put Brady Quinn on the IR so he is done for the year meaning Derek Anderson will start against the Raiders.  Charlie Frye will start after leaving the win at Denver with a concussion.  Both teams have a head coach on the hot seat.  Eric Mangini says he is not worried about Mike Holmgren and TOm Cable has said he is only thinking about football and winning right now.Through the struggles of 2009, both teams are looking to end the season with some momentum.  The Raiders are trying to win 2 in a row for the first time all year.

Charlie Frye vs. Derek Anderson:    Both quarterbacks are bench warmers looking to prove they belong here, in the NFL.  Frye returns to Cleveland where he beat the Raiders as the Browns QB.  Derek Anderson couldn’t get much going all year as the starter and then Quinn came in and improved the team.  Now Anderson is fighting for a job next year along with Frye who didn’t look too good against the Broncos.

Shane Lechler vs. Joshua Cribbs:     Cribbs just returned kickoffs of 101 and 103 yards for TDs as the Browns beat the Chiefs 41-34 last Sunday.  Shane Lechler has the highest punt average in the NFL.  Do I have to say much more?  Lechler said that he will not shy away from the challenge.  Cribbs returned a kickoff 99 yards for a TD in 2007 at Oakland.  In 2007 the Raiders handled Devin Hester pretty well but that was a while ago.  This will determine the field position and that will be a deciding factor in the outcome of this game.

McFadden and Bush vs. Jerome Harrison:    Harrison just had 286 yards and 3 TDs in the Browns win over the Chiefs.  The Raiders had their best run defense of the year last Sunday as they held the Broncos to 80 rushing yards in their win at Denver.  And the Raiders rushing attack of McFadden and Bush go for 207 yards and a TD.  Who ever gets their running game going on track will be the favorite to win a game with temperatures in the 30s.

Danny, I look for this to be a game matching two teams relying heavily on their ground games. I doubt either coach wants their QBs airing it out.
Special teams will be big in this game and could be the determining factor.

I love that you pionted out the Shane Lechler vs. Josh Cribbs matchup. The best punter in the game against the best punt returner. Gotta love it.
