According to the Sacramento Bee and Associated Press the Oakland Raiders have agree to terms with first-round pick Rolando McClain. Terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed but the projection is a five-year contract worth around $25 million guaranteed.

This comes on the eve of the start of Raiders training camp in Napa where the team will have all nine rookies under contract and attending the first day of camp. Joining the 2010 Raiders draft class on time is defensive end Richard Seymour and quarterback Jason Campbell.

Seymour, who was designated as the teams “franchise” player this off-season will earn $12.4 million with the franchise tag after the two sides were unable to reach a long-term contract. None the less Seymour is ready to get to camp and lead the Raiders young defense.

Campbell, acquired this off-season from the Washington Redskins in exchange for a fourth-round pick has been handed the starting quarterback job even before training camp has started.

Campbell gives the Raiders stability at starting quarterback, something the team hasn’t had since Rich Gannon led them to the Super Bowl in 2002. While Campbell might not be Rich Gannon he’s certainly a better quarterback than JaMarcus Russell, Charlie Frye, Bruce Gradkowski and others.

With the signing of McClain the Raiders cap off an impressive off-season that featured the additions of linebacker Kamerion Wimbley, quarterback Jason Campbell and rookies Lamarr Houston and Rolando McClain.

It should make more an improved year in the Bay Area but don’t expect a division title just yet.

Note:

McClain is the first top 10 pick to sign which should help the negotiation process for Buffalo (RB C.J Spiller No.9 overall), Cleveland (CB Joe Haden No. 7 overall) and Seattle (OT Russell Okung No.6 overall). The wait is still on No. 1 overall pick Sam Bradford to sign.

Once Bradford signs expect the top 10 to fall right in order with signings.
