Keys For Jets To Be Victorious Thursday in Toronto
The Jets are looking for revenge against the Bills Thursday to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Last game against the Bills the Jets managed to get over 300 yards on the ground and shut down T.O. for 13 yards. That wasn’t enough for a win as Mark Sanchez threw 5 picks to help them lose in overtime16-13.
Jets are coming off a win against the Panthers and now have some of their confidence back. Last game, Mark Sanchez went 13-17 and was able to manage the game against the Panthers defense while the Jets defense was able to get four picks off the Jake Delehomme.
The Bills, are coming off a win against the Dolphins and seem to be coming alive. Ryan Fitzpatrick has given the Bills offense a spark in the past couple games. With Fitzpatrick at QB the Bills have had 340 yards in the past two weeks versus Miami and Jacksonville.
Fitzpatrick also has made T.O. a threat again after getting 366 yards in his first nine games; he now has 296 in his past two. I am not worried much about T.O. though, mainly Darrelle Revis will be on him Thursday.
Here are the main things the Jets need to do to come out of Toronto with a win
Put Pressure Fitzpatrick: The Bills offensive line is banged up and the Jets need to put pressure on Fitzpatrick. But they need to do it smart and put a spy on Fitzpatrick to watch him every time they blitz.
Fitzpatrick is a very mobile quarterback and if you put pressure on him, and he finds a hole he will scramble, and burn you for a first down and maybe more. Last week he had seven rushes for 50 yards. Containing Fitzpatrick is a big priority especially on third downs.
Putting pressure on Fitzpatrick will help force him to make bad decisions. This season, Fitzpatrick has four touchdowns and seven interceptions. If the Jets put pressure on Fitzpatrick the Jets Defense should be able to force interceptions.
Limit Turnovers: If Sanchez throws more than three picks, they will most likely lose. If the Jets can’t hold onto the ball, they will most likely lose.
The Jets have had many problems with turnovers lately, especially in the past three games. In the Panthers game, it was two fumbles that could have been very costly if the Panthers offense wasn’t so horrible. Against the Pats, it was four interceptions for Sanchez which ended up costing them the game. Against Jacksonville, it was Braylon’s fumble and two picks from Sanchez which helped lead the Jets to a loss.
Sanchez needs to be a game manager to help limit turnovers. Like he was against the Panthers and the Raiders, he needs to manage the game and not force passes which result in interceptions.
If the Jets want to win, they have to limit turnovers and not make stupid mistakes. Hopefully, this new color system will continue to help Sanchez make smarter throws and manage the game better.
Play In Sync: I cannot stress enough for the importance of playing well as a team, for the Jets. They won against the Panthers because all around they played well together and no unit played bad.
If you look at every loss, either Sanchez or a unit screwed the Jets over and forced them to lose. Such as the special teams in the second match against the Dolphins, or Sanchez against the Bills.
This is the most important thing the Jets have to do for a win against Buffalo.
But also, please Sanchez, do not throw five interceptions again.

I’m just glad the idiot Bills gave up one of their Decemeber home field advantage games to host a divisional contenst indoors in Toronto. Thanks for helping out my Jets, Buffalo!
