Keys For a Gang Green Victory against the Jags

The Jets are 4-4 and playoff hopes are dimming after a devastating loss to the Dolphins. Coming off the Bye week they will be facing the also, 4-4 Jaguars.

Although the records might be the same, the Jaguars only impressive win comes from the 5-4 Texans, who the Jets have already defeated. Other then that they have defeated the Titans, and barely sqeaked by both the Cheifs and the Rams only winning by three in both games.

But if the Jets want to keep their playoff hopes alive they must defeat the Jaguars. So here are the keys for the Jets to beat the Jags.

Mark Sanchez can’t suck: This pretty much apply’s to every game the Jets will play for the rest of the season. If the Jets want to win Mark needs to manage the game. It shouldn’t be hard against a Jaguars defense whos in the bottom 20 in passing defense and interceptions. If Mark does well then it opens up the run game and the Jets should have a good game if Mark succeeds.

Shut down the run game: The Jags are six in the league in rushing yards mainly because of Maurice Jones-Drew. The Jets aren’t really that afraid after shutting down the 2nd best run game last week against the Dolphins.

Shut down Mike Sims- Walker:  One of the most underrated recievers in the NFL right now seems to be the X-factor for the Jaguars. It is really amazing when you look at the correlation to his performance and the games outcome. Lets look at the last 5 games for the Jags and MSW’s(Mike Sims-Walkers) performance.

Week 3: Score, Jaguars 37, Titans 13. MSW’s Stats: 7 receptions, 91 yards, 2 TD’s.
Week 4: Score, Jags 0, Seattle 41. MSW did not play in this game due to suspension.
Week 5: Score, Jags 23 Rams 2o. MSW’s Stats 9 receptions 120 yards
Week 7: Score, Jags 13 Titans 30. MSW’s Stats: 2 receptions 9 yards
Week 8: Score, Jags 24 Cheifs 21. MSW’s Stats: 6 receptions 147 Yards 1 TD

If the Jets want to win Sunday it’s vital that they shutdown MSW. I think Darrelle Revis will do that job just fine.

Everyone Must Be in Sync: In all of the Jets losses it seems like one person or team screwed up the game for the whole team. In the Buffalo game it was Sanchez with his five interceptions. In the Dolphins game it was the Defense letting up 21 points in the fourth quarter, and in the other Dolphins game  it was the special teams letting up two touchdowns to Ted Ginn of kick off returns.

If the Jets want to win everyone must be in Sync, we must be balanced on all sides of the ball if they want to win this game or let alone make the playoffs.

So what do you guys think the keys for victory will be for the Jets or Jags? Think the Jets will make the playoffs? Who will win this game?
