Jets continue to shut up the critics with another underdog win against the Chargers. They are now in the AFC championships for the first time since Bill Parcells was coaching the Jets.

Here are some quick hits from the game.

-I am not so much surprised that the Jets won, then I am that they didn’t manage to blow it. I think about 99% of Jet fans were thinking the Jets were going to be the same old Jets after the Chargers scored a touchdown with two minutes and 14 seconds left.

-Kerry Rhodes decided to turn on the time machine to the player he was in 2006. He had a key sack, which forced a fumble late in the fourth quarter, and returned the onside kick that saved the game for the Jets.

-Rex Ryan is seeming less and less crazy when he said that the Jets should be one of the favorites in the playoffs.

-Braylon Edwards didn’t drop the ball today, WOO-HOO

- The more and more Shonn Greene plays well, the less and less I see Thomas Jones wearing a Jet uniform next year. Greene became the first Jet since Freeman McNiel to rush for more than 100 yards in two straigh playoff games. Meanwhile, Jones had his second straight lackluster game with 41 yards today.Jones has a three million dollar roster bonus coming in the offseason so it will be interesting to see what the Jets do with him.

-Revis never ceases to amaze me, he had that spectacular interception and did a great job switching his coverage between Gates and Jackson in the game.

-Mark Sanchez continues to look very poised, making good decisions (with the exception of his interception) and making very accurate throws. Sunday, he became the second rookie QB ever to win two playoff games.

- I think the Jets somehow are cheating against field goal kickers. How else can you get two great kickers to go zero for four inside the forty? That only happened once in the whole playoffs combined.

Now heres some people I would like to extend my thanks to.

1. I would like to thank Nate Keading for missing three field goals and being horrible at kicking field goals against the Jets. (He helped the Jets get into the divisional round by missing a 40 yarder in the playoffs in 2004)

2. I would like to thank the Detriot Lions for giving 65th pick to the Jets, which turned out to be Shonn Greene.

3. I would like to thank the Jets curse for backing off since week 15.

4. And finally, I would like to thank Malcolm Floyd and Shaun Phillips for comitting very stupid, pointless penalties which benefitted the Jets greatly.

Now the Jets are off to have a Super Bowl III, and a week 16 rematch with the Colts thanks to those people.

So what do you guys think? Will Thomas Jones be a Jet next year? Do the Jets stand a chance against the Colts? Why are all these field goal kickers missing against the Jets?

Let me know down below!

The Jets have arguably the best defense the NFL has seen since the 2000 Baltimore Ravens. I’m excited to see if great defense can beat great offense this Sunday night!

Terry, I agree the Jets defense is intriguing, but this article is about Thomas Jones. That’s an even more intriguing debate. To answer hte author’s question, No, I don’t think Jones will be back next year. He’s going to want too much money. The field goal kickers are missingn because they don’t respond well to pressure.
