Jets Are Now In The Driver Seat: Will They Crash?
When all hope seemed gone in the loss to the Falcons last week, the Jets regained control of their own destiny and are one game away from the playoffs.
Everything fell in favor for the Jets today, Jacksonville lost, the Phins lost, and the Ravens lost all by the time the Jets vs. Colts game kicked off. The Jets where able to seize the oppurtunity and beat the Colts 29-15.
The Jets did a good job sticking with the Colts when Peyton Manning was in, and where able to seize the game when Curtis Painter, Colts QB, went in and Manning went out. When Manning was warming the bench the Jets scored 19 points, the Colts scored 0.
The running game did a spectacular job with 200 yards between Thomas Jones and Shonne Greene. Thomas Jones also helped seal the deal with a touchdown with five minutes to go.
Kudos to Mark Sanchez for not blowing the game and playoff hopes for the Jets. Here’s an interesting stat: The Jets are now 8-2 when Mark Sanchez throws one interception or less.
The Jets defense got lucky on several plays and where Peyton Manning overthrew open recievers. The Jets did a sub par job putting pressure on Manning, giving him plenty of time even on blitz’s.
I also have to ask, how can you not block Dwight Freeney? Twice, the Jets let Freeney get to Sanchez untouched for a sack. How you forget about blocking one of the best defensive ends in the league is beyond me.
Regardless, the Jets knocked off the previously undefeated Colts and are now in control of their on destiny with one week left to go. But there great news and bad news.
The great news is the Jets are playing the Bengals, who have nothing to play for as they already clinched the AFC North.
The Bad news: the Jets are, well, the Jets.
When things are looking bright for the Jets, they will always break their fans hearts. Such as the collapse last year after the Jets were 8-3, losing to the Steelers in the second round of the playoffs because of two missed field goals. I could go on and on, but hopefully this time will be different.
My prediction: Bengals will sit their starters most of the game and the Jets will advance to the playoffs, playing the Bengals again in the wild card.
Lets just hope these aren’t the same old Jets next week.

What’s amazing is that the Jets are going to steal a playoff spot by beating the backups of the Colts and the backups of the Bengals. They got a lucky schedule and got to play two preseason games at the end to get in.
