Finally, a big name coach comes to Buffalo
George Edwards, (pictured left showing Zach Thomas how to tackle) has been on the job less than a month at Florida, was named the Defensive Coordinator for the Buffalo Bills this week.
George brings with him one heck of a resume including 15 years of collegiate and professional coaching experience.
Edwards held the position of linebackers coach for the Cowboys from 1998 to 2001.
In 2002, Edwards went to the Redskins under the title of Assist. Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers coach.
Edwards would go on to serve as linebackers coach for the Browns for the 2004 season.
After a short stay Cleveland, Edwards became linebackers coach of the Dolphins under current Alabama’s coach, Nick Saban. He held that capacity for five seasons.
Hiring George brings a strong presence that I know will show both on the field and within the organization. I see great things coming out of the defense next year. There is a lot of talent on that side of the ball for the Bills and that showed this past season. Now, with the right coach they will be feared by all.
Let’s go Buffalo!!!!
