This was easily the best-played Super Bowl of my lifetime. The game lasted a little over three hours, despite the extended halftime. There were only eight total penalties, none of which were major blunders. Both teams executed their gameplans effectively and, for the most part, every player showed up.
Hard to believe that Indy got outscored 31-7 after the first quarter. It never felt like a lopsided contest.

WOW!!!
NO New England, NO Dallas, NO San Diego, NO Minnesota, NO Pittsburgh...but there is one NO left...New Orleans is still there...and they are in a prime positions to win this Sunday's game versus the Colts.
This will not be a cake though, the Saints will be facing yet again another hall of fame quarterback. I cannot think of a postseason where I team has had to potentially beat 3-1st-Ballot-Hall of Fame Quarterbacks. Kurt Warner is the only questionable quarterback and the question is more "when" than "if". But that is a discussion for another time. Between Warner, Brett Farve, and Peyton Manning it is hard to get a better trio of quarterbacks and resumes in the business of quarterbacking. Relatively speaking the first two were easy compared to Manning. Farve and Warner are [...]

It is the classic scenario, who would win talent or heart?
On paper it appears as though the Vikings would have won the game with some of the statistics piled up in last Sunday's NFC Championship game. But the Saints play with unextinguishable fire that fuels the Super Dome and the city of New Orleans....which was evident after the game was over and the streets of downtown New Orleans were flooded, not with water, but with fans cheering in celebration of their team's victory and advancing to the Super Bowl!!!
When you look at the statistics it seems like the Saints should have lost this game by at least a touchdown if not more points. But what the Saints had on their side that game was the thing that they have had on their side all season long....heart. There a ton of categories [...]

When the Saints Have the Ball.......The key will be Dwight Freeney's ankle. If the speed-rushing demon is healthy enough to consistently turn the corner, the Colts will have a huge mismatch in their favor in passing situations. Saints left tackle Jermon Bushrod does not have the quickness nor footwork to handle Freeney.
Bushrod’s struggles have been the Achilles heal for the Saints offense all season. Against Minnesota, New Orleans often kept an extra tight end or back in to help chip on Jared Allen. This gave Drew Brees a clean pocket, but it also eliminated some of the super spread formations that make Sean Payton’s offense explosive. [...]

Listen, let me start by saying I do not condone purposely injuring anyone. Football is a violent game where grown men beat on one another for the purposes of victory.
Where else in the world can you watch a bunch of millionaires beat each other up?
But after watching the New Orleans Saints playoff run many people have spoken out that they are playing too rough. Seriously? Too rough?
It should be noted that by next Sundays game the Saints will have faced three future Hall of Fame quaterbacks in Kurt Warner, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning.
Both Warner and Favre took a beating. The Saints pressure never stopped. On several plays the Saints defenders took a lot of crap from media and fans for their non-stop pressure schemes.
It was so bad that defensive coordinator Gregg [...]

Chamionship Sunday has arrived and the teams remaining are interesting indeed. Who would have ever predicted the Jets making it this far with a rookie coach and rookie quarterback?
So today I got up early today and began watching the pre-game show on NFL Network. I love listening to Rich Eisen with his crew of retired coaches and players. He's one of the best Ever at keeping control of his show.
GREATEST QUARTERBACK IN NFL HISTORY
A discussion broke out about Peyton Manning and is he one of, if not, the best quarterback ever to play the game. There were some varied opinions from Warren Sapp, Marshall Faulk, Steve Marriuci and Michael Irvin. The consensus view was yes, he will retire one of the greatest ever.
Not so fast though! Retired Dallas Cowboy Irvin [...]

What do the Saints need to do in order to secure a victory and travel into a place this franchise has only ever dreamed of...
...simple score more points than the opposition. ;-) To expand that and discuss more how the Saints need to slow the Vikings and the Saints run up the score here is my preview:
The most important aspect for the Saints offense is to NOT let the foot off the gas pedal. The Saints should never look at the scoreboard as to stay in the mindset that they need and should score on every position. I love that Drew Brees, quarterback of the Saints, has said in multiple times [paraphrased] "we want to score every time we [the offense] get the ball." I love that tenacity to always push.
I believe the most important aspect of the game with be the lines...Can the Saints [...]

45-14 Saints WIN!!!
If you were a casual fan watching the game you would have been sorely disappointed in the game that took place at the Super Dome last weekend because of the lop-sided finished. But, if you were a a Saints fan the game was better than a warm beignet from Cafe Du Monde. After the Cardinals first offensive position (one run for 70 yards into the end zone) the Saints were in complete control.
It was a whole team effort.
Their defense did exactly what it has done all season long: hold the opposing offense a couple of times, play opportunistic defense, make big plays, and cease their opportunities.
The offense was led by-their seemingly perennial MVP candidate-quarterback Drew Brees who had another great day at the office. Brees was diffently prepared for the [...]

In my first installment of my 2010 NFL Mock draft I received a lot of comments with people speaking out about two or three of my picks. Mainly Tim Tebow going sixth to the Seattle Seahawks, Gerald McCoy 12th to the Miami Dolphins and Jahvid Best 21st to the New York Jets.
So far no new big names have thrown their name into the 2010 draft pool. However I would like to point out that UW quarterback Jake Locker IS NOT going to be in the 2010 mock draft. I have seen at least five or more mock drafts in the last few days with Locker still in them.
So with that being said [...]

Saints fans-Lets all join hands to help in Haiti!
By now you have all heard and watched how the recent earthquake this past Monday (January 12th) decimated the small island country of Haiti. As all NFL fans know, but especially Saints' Fans, we have all felt the devastation heaped upon by the city of New Orleans when the monstrous Hurricane Katrina hit in September of 2005. New Orleans is still recovering! And, as we witnessed in the Katrina aftermath, it is crucial to get the proper supplies whether it be medical, nutritional, or logistical to the impacted area(s). It took FEMA 3 days to get water to the Super Dome. I hope we can all learn from these horrific past events about what to do in the future...I believe the future is now! Never mind that we are football fans or [...]
