Colts Release Ugoh

September 8, 2010 by
From Associated Press: Last year, Tony Ugoh lost his starting job. On Wednesday, he was simply out of a job. The offensive lineman the Colts once projected as its left tackle of the future was placed on the waived-injured list after missing practice with an undisclosed foot injury. To take his spot, the Colts claimed another offensive lineman, Joe Reitz, off waivers from Miami. Colts players and coach Jim Caldwell were not available after practice to comment on the move, but are expected to talk about it Thursday. This means that Charlie Johnson will be taking over fully now and will be the man [...] Continue reading →

The Indianapolis Colts are 1-7 under head coach Jim Caldwell in pre-season games. But it doesn't matter really. But at least the Colts could just get one win in the pre-season. However, the last time the Colts went winless in the pre-season was in the 2005-06 season when Indy marched to a 13-0 run and finished the year off 14-2. Could that happen again? I hope so. But seeing that conclusion is going to be awhile. But after last night, it's time for football fans to get ready for the [...] Continue reading →
Aaron Rodgers rocked in the Green Bay Packers' steamrolling Week Three pre-season win over the Indianapolis Colts. And he seriously rocked the house in Lambeau Field, throwing three touchdowns. He completed 21-of-29 passes for 195 yards, going along for a 124.9 rating. The Packers went on their way to score six offensive touchdowns, including two on special teams formations, to go ahead for a 59-24 blowout over the Colts. This brings the Colts down to a 0-3 record, while Green Bay improves to a 2-1 [...] Continue reading →

Chan Gailey says that the Buffalo Bills' win against the Indianapolis Colts was an important step for the team. The Bills rocked in a 34-21 rout over the Colts, who lose their second straight game after losing the San Francisco 49ers just previously, 37-17. C.J. Spiller shows that he is the future of the Bills, playing great that day, rushing for 54 yards on ten carries with a touchdown. The main play was his 31-yard score. Spiller is a play-maker and showed that in the game. He shows real bright signs for this team's future and especially their running backs' core, which also includes Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch. Joique Bell led the Bills in rushing, however, with eleven carries for 80 yards and one touchdown. Trent Edwards redeemed himself, completing five-of-eight [...] Continue reading →
The Indianapolis Colts will be heading to Canada to face the Buffalo Bills for their second pre-season game tomorrow night. Team defensive end John Chick was a star in the Canadian Football League and was simply unstoppable. He was a beast. Chick is looking forward to Canada. Bill Polian likes the talent from Canada. "It's another avenue," Colts vice president and general manager Chris Polian said Tuesday of the CFL to the Indianapolis Star. "We've gotten some productive players out of it." Some of these players include kicker Mike Vanderjagt, cornerback Nick Harper, and running back Kenton Keith. Chick could be the next great project for the Colts. Going back to Canada, it brings back memories for the 6'4" 260-pound defensive end, who won the Grey Cup in 2007 with his [...] Continue reading →
Melvin Bullitt was the Special Teams co-captain alongside with kicker Adam Vinatieri last season. But Bullitt suggested that back-up safety Jamie Silva should have been one of the co-captains instead of himself being honored as one on special teams. "In every way, Jamie deserved it more than I did," Bullitt said. "I'm praying for him and hope he's back and ready to go next season." Silva is entering his third year in the league and was expected to start a punt-returner this season for the Colts. However, seeing that happen is most definitely unlikely now that he is out for the season after injuring his knee ligament in the team's 37-17 pre-season loss to the the San Francisco 49ers. "That really hurts us," Bullitt said. "Someone is going to have to step up on special [...] Continue reading →
Usually when it is the pre-season for the Indianapolis Colts, they usually don't play in it. They always have a really bad record at the end of the pre-season. It just seems they could care less. The same goes for the fans. But when you really look at it, it matters. Especially when you are a battling for a roster spot. The Colts started off the first quarter pretty good, 10-0. After that, it was all over. The San Francisco 49ers rolled and won 37-17 to kick the 2010-11 season off. 49ers' back-up quarterback David Carr threw one touchdown pass that day and was nine-of-eleven for [...] Continue reading →
Many injuries have stuck the Indianapolis Colts, especially their offensive line. Now they lost a key component to their successful offense as tight end Dallas Clark left Friday's training camp practice with a leg injury. He was unable to finish a workout due to the injury as something happened to his leg when he was running a passing route. No comment has reportedly been said. Clark caught a pass back in the end zone and made stutter-steps in order to make sure he was in-bounds. But when he got up, he it didn't look so good and there was an injury. He was flexing his left leg and was immediately then met by the team trainer to help the Pro-Bowler out. According to the Indianapolis Star, the injury might as well be considered minor but it might change until further notice [...] Continue reading →
