The much-improved Houston Texans (11-7) battled toe-to-toe with the potentially Super Bowl bound Baltimore Ravens (13-4) for four full quarters, but came up just a hair short, as the Ravens prevailed 20-13 and advance to play the New England Patriots (14-3) on the road next Sunday at 3:00pm EST in the AFC Championship Game.
However, it was far from a banner, dominate showing by Baltimore. The Texans performed better in the running game. Arian Foster chalked up 132 yards on 27 carries with a touchdown and five [...]

After finishing 14-2 in 2010 with the #1 seed in the AFC playoffs, the New England Patriots lost to the New York Jets 28-21 in the AFC Divisional. Just like last year, the Patriots enter the 2011 NFL playoffs on an eight-game winning streak and with homefield advantage throughout the conference playoffs. The Patriots seemed like a team playing in the preseason to prepare for their real season starting in January during the last half of their winning streak. The Patriots went on the road to hold on against the inferior Washington Redskins 34-27, came back from a 16-7 deficit to defeat the Denver Broncos 41-23 on the road, came back from a 17-0 halftime deficit to sweep the Miami Dolphins 17-0, and came back from a 21-0 first quarter deficit to defeat the Buffalo Bills 49-21. The 2012 NFL Playoffs have already been chock-full of surprises and the Divisional Round should feature much more of the same. Romeo Crennel has his second head coaching position. The Kansas City Chiefs have their 12th head coach in franchise history. Whether the pairing works or not is to be seen in the near and perhaps distant future. However, both made the right choice in the current times.
For Crennel, this move is a no-brainer. He gets a shot at redemption after ultimately failing in his first chance with the Cleveland Browns. The man has five Super Bowl rings and yet has so much to prove. All of those championships of course can via the assistant coach route.
While the jewelry looks the same the feeling of accomplishment and place in history most certainly isn't.
For the Chiefs, how could you go in another direction? The team has been a coaching carousel since the days of Marty Schottenheimer and [...]

The Bills season in a nut shell was disappointing to say the least. After opening up the season with three straight wins, the Bills would go on to win only three more games the rest of the season ultimately finishing with a record of 6-10 and tied for last in their division with the Dolphins.
High hopes were on their side early on in the season as Bills QB, Ryan Fitzpatrick was leading the league in quarterback rating, RB, Fred Jackson was leading the league in touchdowns and yards from scrimmage and the defense led by rookie Marcell Dareus was making an impact and stopping the likes of the Patriots and the Eagles. However, this momentum would change during the season as Fitzpatrick would ink a new deal and forget how to throw touchdowns and remember how to throw interceptions, Jackson [...]

Even though he has had some "issues," in particular over the last couple of weeks, one can not deter the fact that WR Stevie Johnson is an instrumental part of the Bills offense and getting them back to the playoffs. This is why Bills GM, Buddy Nix has begun new talks on a contract for the receivers services at least for the next couple of years. More important, the coaching staff and Johnson's teammates have expressed their strong desire to bring him back. Johnson has been the team's leading receiver in each of the past [...]
