Housekeeping that I wanted to put on top of the post:
I will be working very hard the next few weeks to get multiple posts up/week. Training camp is a very exciting time in the NFL, and I want to make sure to report on all of it. Also, I will be attending a practice eventually, and hope to get some photos and maybe even talk to a couple Rams players about the upcoming season. Most importantly, I have a new Twitter devoted solely to the Rams and this blog. It can be found at http://twitter.com/Rams_Fan_Voice
Greetings, Rams and NFL fans. As I'm sure you're more than aware of, the Rams and the rest of the NFL started up their training camps this week. If your team hasn't started yet, then they will be soon! The Rams rookies and "selected" vets reported to camp [...]

Okay, I've avoided this as long as possible. As I'm sure you know, I'm not a draft guy. I'm terrible at scouting players, I'm terrible at telling who's going to be good and who's going to be a bust, and terrible at about everything else in between. I let Mel Kiper do the scouting for me and Billy Devaney do the picking for me. I let most of the media influence my opinions on who's good and who's not, which can lead to me going with the flow a bit too often. That said, I still feel like you good readers should at least get a glimpse of my opinion and where the Rams are going tonight. What this pick holds for next season and the future of Rams football. I will not be scouting anyone, but I will be laying out the groundwork for what the Rams will need to do if they take each certain [...]

As I've sure you've heard by now, current Rams minority owner Stan Kroenke announced intentions of exercising his right of first refusal and is going to attempt to buy a 100% stake in the Rams. The move effectively kicks Shahid Khan out of the bidding, and sends shock waves through the Rams fan nation and the NFL.
Obviously, Kroenke has known all along that if he was going to own a controlling interest in the Rams he was either going to have to sell his Denver franchises or get Roger Goodell to waive the cross ownership rules that prohibit someone from owning sports franchises in two different cities. It had been widely speculated after the Khan bid that Kroenke would either keep his 40% or "cash out" his piece to Khan. The cash out rumors have become even more popular the past couple [...]

Happy Friday, Rams fans! Rumors popped up again this week that the Rams were close to a trade with the Eagles that would send their second round pick (#33 overall) and restricted free agent free safety OJ Atogwe to Philadelphia in exchange for the former first round pick quarterback. Various Philadelphia and national outlets were reporting that the deal was close to happening in the "near future" or "in the next 48 hours" but Rams sources (including Kevin Demoff and Billy Devaney) scoffed at the reports, and again shot down any notion that the Rams are trying to trade for McNabb. Devaney even went so far to say that he was angered that Atogwe's name was mentioned in the reports.
I couldn't be more happy that the Rams aren't even thinking about making this trade. On one hand, you have [...]

Good afternoon. Sorry for the long layoff in posting, I've been having a fair share of internet problems the past few weeks and I could hardly find time to get on the internet much less do any blogging. Anyway, that's all clear so hopefully I'll start getting back to regular posting again.
There's been a lot said about the Rams early moves in free agency since it started on Friday. They signed perennial backup quarterback AJ Feeley on Friday and then signed DT Fred Robbins yesterday. These moves, while not intended to make a big splash, are necessary additions in my opinion. The Rams needed a veteran presence in the quarterback department on the sideline not knowing Marc Bulger's future and the fact that Kyle Boller is not coming back. Robbins should fortify a defensive line that [...]

Happy Singles Awareness Day, Rams fans. Wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying time with your loved one (or if you're like me spending quality time with yourself).
First things first, a follow up on the story I wrote about a couple weeks ago: Steven Jackson will not face charges following the accusal from his ex girlfriend that he beat her. The Las Vegas Police Department said they talked to both Jackson and his ex girlfriend Supriya Harris before determining there was "insufficient" evidence to move ahead with the case and formally charge Jackson. I was not surprised to hear this news, as the accusations and timing seemed fishy in the first [...]

As I'm sure many of you know by now, Steven Jackson was accused of beating his eight month pregnant girlfriend in March of 2009. The accuser is the girlfriend herself, Supriya Harris. Harris claims Jackson pushed her repeatedly into a door handle, causing a scar on her stomach and great pain. Jackson denied the allegation later in the day, calling them "untrue" and that he won't address these issues through media outlets.
I'll get to my take in a few moments, but first a handful of links on the situation:

Happy offseason, Rams' fans! It couldn't have come sooner than it has, with the Rams dragging to a 1-15 finish after losing their final game to the San Francisco 49ers, who finished 8-8 and second in the NFC West. Today, I would like to identify some big needs for the Rams this offseason. Obviously, a 1-15 team is going to have lots of needs, but I'm going to try and nail down some of the bigger ones needed for the Rams to be at least a bit more successful in the upcoming 2010 season. Today, I'm going simply identify the needs. In a future post, I will address the solution to those needs. These are in no particular order.
1. Quarterback
Obviously, the Rams did not have the most productive season in regards to the man behind center. Marc Bulger (when he wasn't hurt) [...]

I'm sure you sitting on the edge of your seats this past Sunday afternoon watching the Rams drop another home game, their elevenith straight, 27-17 to division rival Seattle. The loss was discouraging in many ways, as the 1-10 Rams failed to show any improvement from the previous home losses to New Orleans and Arizona and in fact, many people would argue they regressed. The game had many disturbing trends, as the offense continued their putridness, the special teams were less than spectacular, and the run defense left much to be desired. It was a game of trends for sure, and the Rams seemed to be trending downward instead of upward.
However, the one thing that seems to be not as discussed are the crucial injuries that the Rams have sustained that past couple of weeks. I know an NFL [...]

I'll get to the preview in a second, but first some bulleted notes as I shuffle through the week in Rams news.
Sunday's game is in fact a sell out. The team asked for and received a 24 hour extension yesterday, and was able to sell out the game before noon today. The game will be broadcast on KTVI locally.
Craig Dahl and David Roach were both fined for hits during the Lions game. Zach Follett, who layed the (apparent) helmet to helmet on Danny Amendola, was not [...]
