The Saints WON!
What a game!!!
That first quarter was scary if you were a Saints fan and even going into half time with the score 6-10. But the Saints have been down before and came to win 31-17. One of the most impressive numbers is the fact that the Saints' defense held the Colts' offense to 17 points. The tenacious Jets defense could not even do that, and what is really impressive is that the Saints had a similar game to the one they played against the Vikings in the NFC Championship game. Here are some of the statistics:
Total Yards:
Colts: 432 Saints: 332
3rd Downs:
Colts: 6 out of 13 Saints: 3 out of 9
Rushing: Attempts/Yards/Average
Colts: 19/99/5.2 Saints: 18/51/2.8
Passing: Attempts/ Yards/Average
Colts: 31-45/333/7.4 Saints: [...]

WOW!!!
NO New England, NO Dallas, NO San Diego, NO Minnesota, NO Pittsburgh...but there is one NO left...New Orleans is still there...and they are in a prime positions to win this Sunday's game versus the Colts.
This will not be a cake though, the Saints will be facing yet again another hall of fame quarterback. I cannot think of a postseason where I team has had to potentially beat 3-1st-Ballot-Hall of Fame Quarterbacks. Kurt Warner is the only questionable quarterback and the question is more "when" than "if". But that is a discussion for another time. Between Warner, Brett Farve, and Peyton Manning it is hard to get a better trio of quarterbacks and resumes in the business of quarterbacking. Relatively speaking the first two were easy compared to Manning. Farve and Warner are [...]

It is the classic scenario, who would win talent or heart?
On paper it appears as though the Vikings would have won the game with some of the statistics piled up in last Sunday's NFC Championship game. But the Saints play with unextinguishable fire that fuels the Super Dome and the city of New Orleans....which was evident after the game was over and the streets of downtown New Orleans were flooded, not with water, but with fans cheering in celebration of their team's victory and advancing to the Super Bowl!!!
When you look at the statistics it seems like the Saints should have lost this game by at least a touchdown if not more points. But what the Saints had on their side that game was the thing that they have had on their side all season long....heart. There a ton of categories [...]

What do the Saints need to do in order to secure a victory and travel into a place this franchise has only ever dreamed of...
...simple score more points than the opposition. ;-) To expand that and discuss more how the Saints need to slow the Vikings and the Saints run up the score here is my preview:
The most important aspect for the Saints offense is to NOT let the foot off the gas pedal. The Saints should never look at the scoreboard as to stay in the mindset that they need and should score on every position. I love that Drew Brees, quarterback of the Saints, has said in multiple times [paraphrased] "we want to score every time we [the offense] get the ball." I love that tenacity to always push.
I believe the most important aspect of the game with be the lines...Can the Saints [...]

45-14 Saints WIN!!!
If you were a casual fan watching the game you would have been sorely disappointed in the game that took place at the Super Dome last weekend because of the lop-sided finished. But, if you were a a Saints fan the game was better than a warm beignet from Cafe Du Monde. After the Cardinals first offensive position (one run for 70 yards into the end zone) the Saints were in complete control.
It was a whole team effort.
Their defense did exactly what it has done all season long: hold the opposing offense a couple of times, play opportunistic defense, make big plays, and cease their opportunities.
The offense was led by-their seemingly perennial MVP candidate-quarterback Drew Brees who had another great day at the office. Brees was diffently prepared for the [...]

Saints fans-Lets all join hands to help in Haiti!
By now you have all heard and watched how the recent earthquake this past Monday (January 12th) decimated the small island country of Haiti. As all NFL fans know, but especially Saints' Fans, we have all felt the devastation heaped upon by the city of New Orleans when the monstrous Hurricane Katrina hit in September of 2005. New Orleans is still recovering! And, as we witnessed in the Katrina aftermath, it is crucial to get the proper supplies whether it be medical, nutritional, or logistical to the impacted area(s). It took FEMA 3 days to get water to the Super Dome. I hope we can all learn from these horrific past events about what to do in the future...I believe the future is now! Never mind that we are football fans or [...]

Who would you rather the Saints face this Saturday? A team that has given up 14 points in the past 3 games or the defense that gave up 45 points in their last game? The Dallas Cowboys are on fire right now, where as the Cardinals defense has been so much 'bark' than 'bite'.
You know who does the trash talking for the Cardinals....the defense, if there was a side of the ball that should be keeping their mouths shut this week it would be and should be the Cardinals defense. Have you heard the reports that Cardinals safety Antrel Rolle said [paraphrased] that he would rather face Drew Brees over Aaron Rodgers.......WHAAAAAAAT???
All Rodgers' did was light you up for 45 points....35 of the points coming in half way through the 3rd quarter and all of the 4th quarter...at home [...]

The Saints last game was on the road against the Carolina Panthers. With the number one seed locked up the Saints rested most of their starters and gave playing time to other football players on the 53 man roster. With nothing on the line accept pride, the Saints...or rather the Saints' back ups lost 10-23. Even though they lost and did not put up a fight there were some players that had an impact on the game, unfortunately most came from the Carolina side.
The rare few that did a good job for the Saints in their last regular season game are:
Runningback Lynell Hamilton. The former San Diego State stand out had a great all around game. In total he collected 86 yards. Hamilton ran for 48 yards on ten carries and caught 3 passes for 38 yards. I like that even though he does not see a [...]

With the number 1 seed securely in the hands of the Saints, the personal department has let it be known that quarterback Drew Brees as well as a some of the other starters with not play in order to insure their health for the playoffs. I know the fantasy of a perfect season is behind us now, but I firmly believe that the Saints are a team that needs momentum, energy, mojo in order to play to their fullest. When the road Saints square off against the Carolina Panthers it will be crucial for whomever is out on that field with a Saints jersey to make sure they give it their all so that when the playoffs start that the Saints have their swagger back.
The last act for the Saints in the regular season is to end their season on a 3 game skid. The Panthers' have shown us that despite being out [...]
